Hi people... first time poster, long time browser.
I registered because of this thread.
Waaaaay back in the days of c.net, I did some research on this subject (I'm a geographer), and I actually mapped out the distribution of some 300 celica owners to figure out where the best area to have a national meet would be. The results I got (they weren't final, but they were good), was that the best place to have a national meet would be anywhere in Ohio, because the data showed the largest cluster of owners in and around that area of the U.S. Of course that included all generation celicas. The distribution of 6th gens could be different.
Anyways, that would be the location that would maximize turnout. Everyone east of the rockies would probably come (even Canada celicas), and most owners would have less than a 1000 mile trip (roughly a day of driving). There wasn't a large enough west-coast distribution to warrant moving the meet further west. Like I said, the results could have been better with more data.
But the celica center of America IS Ohio... for now.
Do what you will with my research. Just trying to help.

Interesting, but if it was based on a poll of people different from the ones that are attending, its not very relevant. Also, even if the biggest cluster of people is in the Ohio area, the analysis doesn't take into account where other people are that want to come. For example, assume there are 50 celica owners in Ohio and none want to go to the meet. Assume further that 20 celica members want to go to the meet: 10 are from Kentucky and 10 are from Georgia. The best place for the meet would be Tennessee, not Ohio. Therefore, the meet should be in Tennessee.
