HEY GUYS I WANNA BUY A 3SGTE FOR MY 95 TOYOTA CELICA GT LIFTBACK BUT THE TRANSMISSION THAT COMES WITH THIS ENGINE IS FOR 4 WHELL DRIVE AND MY CAR IS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SO THAT TRANNY WONT WORK UNLESS I MAKE IT 4WD AND THAT COSTS 3500 DOLLERS. THE TRANNY THAT COMES STOCK WITH MY STOCK ENGINE I HAVE NOW WILL BURN OUT OR THEY SAY PUT IT ON LOW BOOST. ISINT THERE ANY TRANNY THAT I COULD PUT ON AND HAVE MY CAR ON HIGH BOOST? >

the GT tranny will bolt up to the 3sgte but theres debate on whether or not the tranny will hold but for a fairly stock 3sgte im pretty sure it'll hold. u can always go e153 tranny found in the mr2t, camry v6/solara if ur worried ur GT trans will crap out on u. matter of fact if ur gunna do some serious mods in the future i WOULD recomment the e153 trans. DO IT! DO IT! lol im gunna be doing this myself next spring >

LOL!!! Yes DO IT! The stock gt tranny lasted 4 years on my swap. Aside from syncros it withstood the 3s. I had the 3s heavily modded for 2 years.

Im wondering, couldn't you get a 3S tranny from an older model celica the 4th Gen? I should work.

It's still an AWD tranny.

Just for reference sake, you can convert the AWD Celica tranny to FWD, but you need some parts from an E153 and the cost and work involved normally doesn't justify it.

i have had my 5s tranny on the 3s for over a year now, no tranny issues, but the throw out bearing makes noise sometimes. i think as long as you stay under 300hp the gt tranny will be fine.
