My nitto tires are pretty impressive. They are steel inforced inside and its save me a lot of times on dirt roads and the road itself. I remember one time when some idiot dropped a box of nails on the road. I happened to just run right over them and when I was home and coming back again on the road again. There was like two nails stuck on my tires. They actually didn't penetrate all the way inside the tires so I was so lucky. Perhaps due to the steel reinforcement.

I wouldn't trust that rating very much. It'd be nice if they compared all major brands instead of the ones that they make the most profit off of.

Car and Driver just came out with a test on the top 11 performance tires.. the results are as follows..

Thats what I run and I have been pleased. They are a little softer than the Continental Conti-extreme contacts I used to run. They do have a touch more road noise though. I will probably by Pirelli P Zero Nero M & S next time.

i guess ill go for the pirelli then .. good to know

My recommendation is to keep your rims for the winter and buy new rims with summer performance tires for the summer. No matter how good these performance allseasons are, they really just dont compare to summer tires. I am looking into a nice set of 16 x 8's and run 245/45/16 summer tires. That should help reduce the tire spin on a high powered FWD vehicle.
