water to air intercooler - 6G Celicas Forums

i got the water to air intercooler and i dont have anything but the intercooler and i am switching from air to air to water to air because i dont have a hood scoop for air to get to it. anyways what do i need to use for the radiator fluid??? and to keep it moving what parts can someone show pics of what i need and part numbers or something any help would be great thanks.
You will need a heat exchanger and appropriate piping.

You can manufacture the lines, you can even get a different pump which is stronger. If you are using your car year 'round, get a mix of antifreeze and water, of if you love toyota you can pay for their red mix.

k so can i someone give me a idea of how much those parts will cost i got the the intercooler. anyone have parts i can buy from someone?? dont want o spend a ass load of money on it shouldnt i already have the part 16290 it looks like it connects up to the radiator. i need more help i see the parts but i need them and need to see this what what other kind of pump can i use??
Ok well 16290 is the pump, and do a search about that on MR2oc and Alltrac.net they'll have info for you. The rest I basically spelled out for you.

just out of curiosity, are you putting it on your daily driver? I ask because I read that for it to work best you have to change out the water pretty often, but of course, that's only what I read. I know the purpose of an air to water and some details but I haven't really gone in deep review of them so this is why I ask. >smile.gif>

Eh?

1) Runs the same coolant as the main rad uses
2) I change mine with the rest of the fluids about once every 24 months.

It basically works like your coolant system except more simple. Water goes thru IC radiator, cools, just like your reg. radiator, then goes up to your intercooler where the cool water which is a better heat conductor than air, cools the pressurized air from the turbo.
