Problems/Questions/Comments about the Forum Upgrade? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #30791 53 posts Started by Coomer
This thread is for discussion of the new forum upgrade.

If you have any questions, comments, problems, find a bug, something doesn't look right, etc., please post them here.

Current issues that I can think of now:
  • Registration is temporarily disabled until I can get the main website back online. It still has to be finished.
  • The search function is not working perfectly at the moment. I'm looking into why this is happening.
  • Images in signatures may not work. If they don't, please post here with the URL of the image you tried to use. Make sure your signature image follows the rules though.

I'm sure there are more, but I'm on the end of a tiring, stressful, five-day, caffeine-fueled, sleep-depriving programming binge, so my mind is a bit fried at the moment...I'll be online for a bit longer and then I am going out to skate and then getting some much needed sleep. smile.gif

Regards,
Christian Coomer

I like it. And I usually don't take well to change. I'm so glad it's back up. My weekend just wasn't the same without constantly searching this site.

I really like the way you kept us informed about the process with the little info page! Very professional! smile.gif

Not yet. Once the entire site is back online I'll get to it.

I didn't even realize that this functionality was available yet. Pretty cool though. smile.gif

I don't know if you guys have discovered this, but you can easily quote stuff using the fast reply if you simply select some text in the page, and then roll your mouse over the fast reply's text area and then click the "Add Selected Text As Quote" button. There's quite a few neat little enhancements like that. smile.gif

Oh, and sorry about the site being down for about an hour and a half this morning. I had issues with my host changing something, and it caused the forums to not work. But it's fixed now.

Probably because the main site isn't up yet.

Test:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Multi-Layer...013159849QQrdZ1

Edit: Doesn't look like ebay links work just by copying it out of the address bar and pasting it into the reply box.

Still have to use this format:

Where exactly are these white pixels? Think you could take a screenshot for me? smile.gif

And the icon must be of type .ico to be widely used by web browsers.

The user profiles are part of the main site, which isn't quite done yet. Expect them to be working within a week.

I think the eBay links work...I got them to work with my test posts.

This one seems to work for me...copied directly from the address bar:

Ebay links don't work when you just paste the link into the reply box and let the board automaticly turn it into a hyperlink.

Using the URL tags in any reply box works ok it's just when the URL tags are left out and the board does it automaticly that the links get messed up.

I just copied and pasted without using the URL tag and it worked fine for me. Can you give me a link that you can't get to work?

Great job with the site Christian.

I have a suggestion though; on the forums/ page have the text under 'forced induction' and 'meet/event discussion' links skip to the next line earlier so that it does not run into the washout pics.

I think I can speak for everyone here when I say thanks tons for putting your time, effort, and money into this site. It is much appreciated smile.gif

This link doesn't work:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Multi-Layer...013159849QQrdZ1

First time I posted it with Windows 2000 and IE. This time I posted it with Windows XP and FF. Both times I used Fast Reply.

Paste in Full Edit mode without URL tags:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Multi-Layer...013159849QQrdZ1

Pasted in Full Edit mode and manually entered URL tags:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Multi-Layer...013159849QQrdZ1
