Lyin to the ecu part II the distributor - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #30897 11 posts Started by Agent21
Ok I have happy news the ecu on the 3sge 2nd gen operates on a 12 mhz clock. This means I can swap it for 11.0592, 11.046, 11.00, 10.73865, 10.24, 10.00. This means anywhere from a 7.84% to 16.67% gain in RPM. Now for the down side. This means a 7.84% to 16,67% gain in fuel flow rate as well. Nothing like turning a 550 supra injector into a 641.67. That will be where the fun comes in on the fuel level but is easily fixed. NOW for the really fun part the distributor! Ok so we have 2 pulse width modulation signals. One from the ECU to the distributor and one from the distributor back to the ECU. Does the ecu underclock effect these signals.? I am 99% sure they do. Ie the signal going to the dizzy will be at a reduction (opposite the injectors) whereas the signal going to the ecu will be at the correct actual engine rpm. Thoughts?

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
I know what you mean, but fooling the dizzy is like telling your mother that you didn't sleep with the girl next door when you did and got it on tape and somehow your mother has it and your lying too her even after she has watched it. <---------------Tats just an example. Dizzy fooling is really tough, but can be acheived cause spark retard is one of them. May I suggest that you get an EMS or some type of aftermarket controller. Screwing around with the stock ECU is not a good thing unless you can reprogram it and what not. tongue.gif
Wish I could but the rule book won't let that fly. Hell what I am doing right now is very grey. Really I need 2 Pulse width modulation "filters" one to speed up the signal from the ecu and one to slow down the one to the ecu. Then the timing can be manually adjusted.

lol....great analogies....lagos... youre a funny guy

QUOTE (Galcobar @ Oct 15, 2008 - 2:44 AM)You want power but have no money. That's a problem.Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.
Sounds dangerous. I would think that the only way to slow any signal down would be through resistors, but I wouldnt know if that would do anything for you or not.

If you're really good, you might be able to hide that EMS far behind the dash somewhere.... wink.gif

NO WAY man. They check everything in tech inspections after qualifying and after the race. And the competition can protest your stuff at anytime so once they found out we would be toast. Plenty of guys have done the same mod on 4age ecus and some 7mge's as well.

In that case, see if some 4AGE guys are willing to help you out. Sounds interesting, but rather dificult.
