Topic #30951 15 posts Started by Punch
on the way to a club , doing about 100 mph my car just stoped it cut off. pulled to the side of the hiway put some oil in the car (by luck I had oil in the trunk) turned it back on knock kock fromunder the hood...
I think i spun a bearing so I was gonna go ahead & do my swap but my other car is not runing ,so I will fix the berings then do the swap next time around... what do you guys think???

I reckon go with the swap smile.gif
Instead of spending money rebuiling the engine
you might as well use that money to do the swap
and fix your other car.

Yea do what CelicaZR

whats the point of fixing the 5S if your going to get rid of it anyways?
i think it would be a complete waste of time fixing your motor, then swapping it.... save the money and do the swap now smile.gif
yes. same idea here too.

Just realize, if a bearing needs to be replace, it's not big deal, but if you SPUN a bearing, you're in rough shape. The crank will need to be removed, brought to a machine ship to be turned and polished, and the oversized bearings installed.

Not to mention that the journals in the block will probably have to be bored out and cleaned up as well!

If you actually spun the bearing, then I would say go with the swap.

You just have the worst luck don't you? Same here.
I say, put a 20V in the corolla, and a 3S in the Celi. Either way, you would end up with two magnificant beasts. One for dragging the Rolla, and the celi for cruising.
that sucks david. if you need any help just hit me up.
