Ebay lip kits - 6G Celicas Forums

I don't know if i should buy a front lip off of ebay or not. I want one soon. You guys know the ones, the one with the yellow Celica in it.

I've also been looking on ebay for the lip kit, but it seems that almost all of the parts are torn off of salvaged celicas that have been driven hard. The one that I saw had cracks, chips and part was almost broken, so I would say be careful buying something off a foreign used car through the internet.
im pretty sure the kits they are selling didnt come from used salvage cars... they say they were made and also say they need to be fitted and drilled. But im not sure. i wish someone would just buy it to see how it turns out, and then everyone else could determine if its good or not...now who wants to be the testor?

They would probably require alot of fabrication to get them to fit.

Actually that lip hes talking about on Ebay is OEM factory. It looks like its been predrilled. I figure it really was on a celica. I doubt it would come with screws and stuff.

I bought mine off ebay, its not the best fit, kinda has an odd outward bend on the sides so it pulls away from the body and causes a gap, with or without being secured in that spot. the fount has a gap, and the back is a great fit but the ends are kinda fugly looking, not clean.

I'm replacing it with one that I bought off andy's and there is a huge diff in quality and fitment.
I too bought my invader body kit off of Ebay. Front and sides were good enough to work with but the back was a pain in the rear. We had to cut it in 3 or more peices and peiced it onto the stock back bumper. It turn out good, but the front was alittle off. So maybe in a month or so, I will have it molded on to the car which will fix this. Besides I'm not gonna remove it from the car anyway. Plus if your not gonna put it on yourself, then it may be hard to find someone to do it for you. Mine wasn't bolt on either. Basicly had to drill holes then bolt them on. Go back and mold them end. I had mine professionally installed but I kept track on the project to know what was going on smile.gif.

that looks really good Drocay. It sounds like the effort put into getting these things on is worth the money you'll save by buying off ebay, because they all look pretty good once they're on.

I agree with you... im pretty sure i will buy mine off ebay. I dont mind putting a few extra hrs to save a few hundred dollars. Id just be worried about getting the wrong pieces, or slow shipping.

Yeah, when I ordered mine off of ebay I paid 400 something for it including s/h. I received it within a week or 2. Costing me 800 to have it installed which is 1200 total compared to Veilside which is closer to 2000 for the kit alone.
