Make sure you change the hose from hell, and the hose from hell on earth while you have that engine and turbo out. Also there is a small coolent hose on the back of the engine under the intake manifold you should change with the engine out. It may not seem like a big deal but mine had a hole in it and it took me an hour just to change the little hose in the back of the engine. Something that would have taken 5 minutes with the engine out.
lookin nice john.....

you goin to clock the turbo?
haha i thought of that after i mounted everything back up. iunno. well see.

3sgte Pressure plate with a 5sfe clutch disc to show the size difference and why its best to get a clutch made from Spec. that way u have the right diameter like lagos said.

well. i got everything done except:
axels and putting the crossmember back in.
not to much left at all.
one snag i ran into so far is locating the return fuel line in the celica.
can anyone post where it is? or a diagram, we think we found it but we want to be positive, pouring gas in a random line could be fun though.

well see what happens tommorow smile.gif

can someone elaborate on the two hoses from hell? ill make sure to change those before i put my engine in.
im sure the mad doctor will help you out with that one. We want vids when its done man, you're doing a great job.

The return should be on your car right in front of the driver on the firewall. You'll notice the hose running down the firewall under the car towards the back.

Hose from hell is behind the turbo, I dont know where hell on earth is.

I will return one day.
how do you guys know how to do all this madness? lol just tons and tons of reading? or is there some sort of walkthrough somewhere or are you guys all CrAzY?

I got to bleed mine also...(DAM)
well. everything is done and hooked up. EXCEPT!! (angry)
the crossmember because of the stupide rear engine mount.
i cant get that thing under the steering rack thing for the life of me.
i already tried it with the motor leaned forward or back. neither works.
i think the only way to get the mount in is to unbolt the steering thing and move it up a few inches.
can anyone help. tips?

damn itchy... what did you spend on the amzing IC piping? 5bucks? lol

your motor is probably not sitting right. its probably leaning forward too much and you need to jack up the front of it and it will pop into place.

what lagos said or, when I had my cross memeber bar off I tried to put the front mounting bracket on first then the back and that didnt work no matter what kind of pushing and pulling i did so then i lifted the engine up a little more again and took the front mount off and was able to get everything installed by puting the back one on first, then the front. Just a thought.

Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Suspension overhaul begins........
the intercooling piping is just old tongue.gif ive had it from my 1st setup.
the lean of the motor isnt whats stopping the mount its the steering rack. hmm ill have manny come down tongue.gif
and the front engine mount isnt on yet. just the sides are on right now.

Put the rear in first then the front. You DO NOT need to touch the steering rack. Make sure the front to back cross member is competely unbolted. Put the rear mount almost into place leave enough room for the cross member to slide in. Slide the C-member in push the mount down. The mount should not be bolted to the engine at all. You can push or pull the engine to give you more room.(if the two side mounts are bolted in)

You can do it, just be easy. smile.gif

I will return one day.
Dude I would make sure that you wrap the cold side of the IC piping up really good with heatwrap if youre going to run it that way....it looks like its sitting right on top of the downpipe and the exhaust manifold.

Maybe this was just a quick mock up or to start up the motor or something, but if it were me I would avoid such proximity with the exhaust components for a permanent placement.
