Topic #3223 36 posts Started by celi_gt_racer
i think i've only seen one 6th gen celi burnout clip since i have been interested in celicas.... why is this a rare occasion.... i believe its because the majority of 6th gens are underpowered and automatics... but id like to see more burnout clips.... ANY LINKS ... JUST POST HERE >biggrin.gif>
I don't think my st is even capable of doing a burnout... LOL
mine neither.. but im sure some are ( 3s-gte, 4a-gze, 4a-ge 20v., turboers, s/c'ers ) ..... thats what we need to see.... >biggrin.gif>
hmm i think i have a picture of doing a burn out .... if not ill do one and take a pic at the next celica meet we have
OK i Have and automatic ST and i have done many burnouts, trust me when i tell you that our cars are more then able to do burnouts...

[TeamNJCT
how'd u manage that mac.... and did u get pics? >smile.gif>
na i don't have pics i'll try to get some one to take pics next time i try it.

but this is how you do it if you have an automatic

put the car in netrual rev it up till your around 5K
then slide into drive and at the same time you do that slam on the gas allthe way down
if you do it just right you'll have a beautiful burnout..

very nice..... now all we need is pics >tongue.gif> ... i think ive only seen one celi burnout in my entire life.... and i neeeed more... >biggrin.gif>
My 94 st will smoke em up real nice I don't know what ur talking about when u say they won't if i didn't care about my tires i would do a real nice one for ya.
Neutral dropping is so bad for your automatic tranny, it puts alot of strain on your drivetrain so i wouldnt recomend doing it often unless you wana push your car.

thats why you shouldn't do it that much

well yeah, any car can do a burnout. its all about exceeding the traction of your drive tires. I don't get my kicks from burning out underpowered front wheel drive cars though. sure its possible, but why would you want to do it.

to each their own I guess. >wink.gif>
i dont exactly wanna waste my tires either... but like u said people do their own crazy things... i just wanna see some pics or clips of this waste of money and wreckless act.. >tongue.gif>

me2. watching burnouts is fun. its just something I wouldn't do to my own car >wink.gif>
Sure, anyone can do it! Just bring a few buckets of sand and put it in front of your tires and jam the gas =p

Works well if want the 'pissed off so i'm going to burn out in front of you' effect.
all this talk about the crazy act of burnouts.... yet no pics >frown.gif> .... :: urge to kill rising ::
also it torques your drive axles and can actually make them twist under too much torque. something you may find interesting is alot of race teams will either draw or paint a line across their drive axles, then when they go to redo the rear dif they'll take out the axles to see how much theyve twisted, if you get over 1/2 rotation, its time to replace the axles!!

there was a kid that graduated last year with an RX-7 who would sit there and braketorque his toyos after school everyday, my friend ended up having to pick rubber chunks from his hood and windshield one day after getting caught behind him in line to leave. >rolleyes.gif>

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
jeez... thats alot of money down the drain... but also a great sight... RX7 yuuuuuummmm >tongue.gif>
Which RX-7? Either way, for such a legendary car to perform that...it's amazing.
He he he...neutral dropping ins't good and the Celica's have some kind of weird control over it...trust me I've tried. When you do it...you get the RPMs high and drop it into neutral...well the dumb computer kicks on and automatically pushes the revs to like 3g...which doesn't do much for burnouts and it makes you look dumb...I know from experience!...now...

I do mad burnouts with my auto Celica...might not be good for tranny but hwat I do is go in reverse....whether it's out of the parking spot at school or just doing one for my friends...and back up about 10 feet...dont brake...whle im still going backwards...slam it into drive, slam on the gas, say bye bye to expensive tires and hello "you-need-a-new-tranny" lol. Oh well, it's got 110k on it and I'm switching to manual this summer...why not burn the tranny out and look good doing it? People think I'm running 300 HP to be able to do the burnouts I do. Next weekend I'll post a movie of it on my website and a link in this thread so you guys can see mad destruction of my car.

im not trying that i dont wanna screw up my car
I don't have a vid of my car doing it...but I will this summer since my bro got a digital cam that takes like 4 minutes video's, but not until I have my new tires, my 95 GT 5 speed will spin the tires without a problem.
great.. now we just gotta keep this thread from dying in the meantime >biggrin.gif>
damn i can roast my tires what are you guys doing wrong?
That's what I've been wondering. My 95 ST can make Kumho Ecstas(712, W rated) squeak in 3rd, and roast in 1st. When I had cheaper tires I could grab 3rd easily. Even with the old Potenzas(730) I had, 1st gear burns came fairly easily.
awesome.... JUST NEXT TIME - FILM OR TAKE PICS >biggrin.gif>
