frown.gif I reckon one of my calipers has seized , but to be sure does anyone know what symptoms are likely to occur from that ??

The car judders when braking and trys to go left ! the brake set up was new about 6mnths ago (pads and discs) surely they cant be worn already ? there is also a rather bad smell after a few miles driving !!

sounds like a bad rotor to me, warped rotors can make the car lean one way if braking.
Is the brake assembly really hot after alot of driving? If it is and youve got a strong smell comin off, then the caliper is probably seized. You can also check the pads and compare them to the other side; depending on how long the caliper has been failing you'll see a difference in the amount of pad material left.
If the Calipers have seize, the wheel will make a nasty squeal when you are slowly moving say 1 Mph.
Jack up the car and rotate the tires, if it makes that squeal its also the calipers. Could be the rotors like how lew says.
seized calipers .. one of the things i now best....

how to tell if you have one
buring metal smell... annoying sound at all speeds ... car pulls just a little to that one side....
when inspecting the caliper you see rust around the sliders ... and is imposiable to puttl pads out ...

how to fix

options one.. get reconditions calipers from toyota /parts store swap out ..

option two .. get a impact hammer/ air hammer / what every you want to call it ... and tap the sliders till the caliper comes apart... then lub that baby up ... after you sand all the rust off.... get that bitch nice and smooth ...
