It's the third time a component on the engine fails. This time, it was the rod bolts...or whatever...the thingies in there that secure the rod to the piston. Wrist pins? I don't know it in English, LOL...anyway...I really wish the 7A-FE had the strength of that engine. It's a 4G93 (1.8 liter SOHC) that comes with 113 ponies and 115 of torque if I remember correctly. Anyway, all that power is ridiculous...I chew him out everytime I talk to him, LOL...but he likes it, hah. And what's funny is that at the track, all the other turbo Mirages sound like whiney 4 bagers they are, while this one sounds deep like an inline six...I can't explain why...everything about the engine is deep...even with the exhaust cut-out open all the way.

ouch ..time for a new motor. can he swap a 4g63 in there?

Mirages with 4g63t's go hard very lightweight little cars. I didn't know the sohc ones had problems.

wow... that rod got messssedd up.

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
well

we can definately say he was driving it hard enough

that must have made for one hell of a bang

edit: yes, the wrist pin is what connects the rod to the piston
