Help! Installing Missile Switches - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #32288 17 posts Started by DSRT-FX
Hey 6gc'rz
Just bought a set of these red missile switches from Autobarn the other day. Cost me AUS$5 each lol. Anyway the probem I have is not where but how to install these babies. They are going to be put on the existing blank buttons on the centre console. Only thing is I don't want to cut out the blank button cover thingos. Is there any other way? Ohh yeah they are going to be used for the Antenna and Amp. Thanks a bunch. -R

And here I am thinking that someone finally installed a set of SAMs in their Celica...

That could work! The high Beam headlights flip down and the missles shoot out. The low beams flip down and Gattaling guns pop out! The muffler, shoots out grease and oil. Ohhh the many possiblites of a Bond celica.
Oh.. come on guys.
Give him a break.
He was asking a serious question smile.gif

Actually Chan and i were talking about putting an airsoft bb gun under a gt4 hood and stick it out of that round thing by the vent for the topmount intercooler. Wire it so it can be fired inside the car lol. And use one of those toggle/missile switches to arm it hahaa that would be badd asssss.

I have dubbed it the changun lol.

i want a chaff dispenser on the back. lets see how a radar gun handles that!!

to be serious, i'm not really sure what you're talking about with the blank buttons on the center console.
on my center console i've got a little pocket next to my cigarette lighter. if you want to avoid damaging any of the stock parts too much you might want to try finding a project box that will fit down in there and maybe use a putty-like compound to make the box fit snug.

you could also try to locate a junkyard with a 6th gen celica and take parts off of that so you can have your original parts in tact and have some modified parts too.
Hey guys, thanks for the helpful but interesting input lol. Actually i've figued out a way to install them into the factory blank buttons. I know some celi's have pockets and some have blank buttons next to the cigarette lighter. Pics to follow. I just need to figure out how to connect the power antenna and the amplifier.

P.S. i'd like to have a button to morph my celi into a JDM GT-Four celi. lol *dreams* -R

Heres a pic of the complete project.

Nicely done!!

I intend to mount switches on the blanks too but have been worried about breaking them althought they are easy enough to replace. How do you manage to fit them in without completely destroying the plastic bits??

DSRT-FX: pls can you explain, what for you have that small black button, just above the "Security" ? I have the same one, and have no clue what it does... might be the same alarm system (have the Bosh one).

BTW, very nice set-up.. i loooooove those red missile ones. Might have been black though, but never mind.

Thanks.
