have u guyz heard bout Maaco? is it all worth it for a paint job? they say its only 250..

before any of the following statements make you think twice about this site.... Maaco isn't a smart option.
Maaco = bad
...save the money and go for a good paint job...
it will look really cheap and dull...and will end up looking worse than your stock job right as it is....it will look like you spent 250 on it...the kind of paint job you want is going to be A LOT more than that...

Never got a paint job befo' but i'd have to agree w/ snapshot.
I have a friend who was "fixing up" an '03 eclipse to sell. He got Maaco to paint it charcoal grey. It looked and felt cheap (no gloss). They ALSO didn't do a good masking job. There was overspray on the taillights and a little on the window.

it wasn't too bad
i had a few issues that pissed me off big time..but for the majority its
wat you pay is what you get...

I'm going to be honost, Macco's are all independently owned so it all depends on the one you go to and the quality of supplies they use. And if u have them prep expect the worst thing ever. Do all your prep work yourself take out all your lights that u possibly can then go for it. I happend to find a great one and my paint is great no runs no fading no orange peel.

If you want a color change to look right, it takes a ton of work. We did some restores and custom work. Prices get real high when you want more. But the thing is, it's easier on the painter to do little things. Cause you can get them done faster, and it doesn't cost as much in matterials. You make more money not doing restores and allover paint jobs, plus it's not nearly as hard.

it really depends...
good job with body work....tend to be around 1500k-4k....these babies are not cheap...

The bottom line is your preparation. Sand the little nooks and crannies that are hard to get to(they wont). Remove emblems, moldings. Mask off critical parts yourself, if you have rims, put your stock ones on(so you dont get overspray on their). Dissassemble your own car. Remove your headlights, tailights, mirrors, license plate bracket. Even if you drive it there, get there early and start removing parts. Get their top of the line paint job with the clear coat.
