Right, so I'm sorting out my agreed value insurance (thanks Sky), and I'm just totting up how much I've spent on this car over the past couple of years.

I think some of us need a twelve step program to break out of the car modification addiction.

"Hello, my name is Jay and I am an addict. It has been a few weeks since my last modification"

QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
"Hi, my name is Dustin and I'm an addict. It has been, well actually, my car is in the shop right now being modified." Damn I suck at this game laugh.gif thumbsup.gif
"Hello, my name is Collin, and i am an addict. It has been a week since my last mod."...swap coming once my engine dies... kindasad.gif

...lol...i think most everyone on this site has spent more on their car than it is worth (money...)...but of course, our cars are worth more than money biggrin.gif

Well i've spent well over $7,000 with all my mods after March, and add the $6,000 loan i have on the car, thats about $13,000 all together lol. It's all good tho. I love my car and i love spending money on her smile.gif

Interesting everytime I break my car I mod something. I need a new fender bumper and hood, time for a kit smile.gif
I try not to overkill my spending. I am trying to save up so I can move out, so my spending has been slowed. All I want as of now are some Coilovers and Swaybars, and then I think I will be done for a while. I have about 4K saved up to move out, but dear god are apartments pricey in my area... 695/month for 1bd/1ba... thats like.. almost a paycheck!

1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of moneyI'm not really an asshole, but I play one on the internet.**** Photobucket
Including buying the car I have spent around £15000 ($26500) on the faff in just over a year
that's not THAT bad....

my boyfriend spent $26k including the original cost of the car on a 99 CIVIC (ex model)
lol...its pretty bad when you spend more ON the car the what you purchased the car for (me...Right here!)

I think im into at least 7-8 grand......easy!

Hi, my name is jess_i_74, and I have not caught the modding disease. I'm just here to drool at all your sweet cars. Thank you.

nice silver vert Jess - the color looks pretty good on it. For those that do not know, that color never came stock.

Yes, it is 2004 Ferrari Titanium paint; done by the guy who had it before me. I do really like it.

I agree, that looks great on a convertable. Good find. smile.gif

My problems run deep in modding also.....I'm pretty sure that by now I've spent close to what I bought the car for in modifications, but I'm looking to double or triple that number by this year.

I figure since I'm in a good financial position and am working more hours and don't have a car loan to pay, why not?? wink.gif

I learned a long time ago (on my 4th gen swap) not to do this. It just makes you depressed. Now I just keep the receipts and be happy with my car.
