Thermostat + T.O. bearing help?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #33247 7 posts Started by bdog_v
Hello on my 94 celica 2.2 liter GT model I had to order a new thermostat from Napa.
-They sent me the right one according to there books but it is too big in diameter???
*THe parts guy told me the 1.8 liter has a slightly smaller thermostat so I ordered that one....
-I am wondering if it is common for the 2.2 liter and 1.8 liter to have the thermostats switched or in the wrong motor????

-Also I ordered a throwout bearing from Napa and it is too small in diameter to fit on the shaft so apparently there is a second option with a slightly larger inside diameter also listed for the celica....
*Does this sound correct? He said there was no difference in his books for a different throwout bearing on the 2.2 liter vs. the 1.8 liter... Anyone know what is going on with my part issuses?????? Thanks.....
buddy i just did what u should have done, i called advance and auto zone. they sold u the wrong part. the part numbers at advance are gt= 14078 st= is 13758. so its 2 totally different things, and same goes for the bearing.

OEM may be he11a expensive, but its guarantee fitment and performance, not some cheap aftermarket parts.
