ok .. i was thinking of doing 1 12" sub, but my main concern is the type of bass. I was told that 2 10" subs would be much more crisp and tight sounding as opposed to 1 12" sub. Could you tell me if this is true or not, or possibly explain the difference in bass quality.

Not true. Depends on the subwoofer, and more importantly the enclosure.
I custom made the enclosure from a program, bassbox 6 I think. I made a closed box with a resonace frequency of about 50hz I think. The bass is awsome! But it is a Rockford fosgate, very good brand. The salesman I spoke to said that what they sold most was 12". About 95% of what they sold of subs were 12". Well, my bass sounds great and I really care about good sound
i asked the same question last summer when i was looking to buy a 6gc... i don't think it matters if it's a gt/st/gt-s...
i looked @ a gt-s and it had a full spare (bump) i now have a gt (usa) and it doesn't have a full spare... must've been an option/package thing back in the day? *shrugz*
