How to mount TRD rear bumper extensions ?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #33326 12 posts Started by Mug71
Hi there !

I ve purchased 2 TRD rear bumper extensions from chrisc on ebay, but i m a bit annoyed with the mounting method.

The wheel side of the extension is just screwed in place of the mudflap with 2 removed screw, but there is a hole on the bottom of them, located under a screw of the rear bumper, and i don t know what to do with it ... Does the extension is only fixed to the car with the 2 "wheel side" screws or there is something else to mount it ? Cause if i only use the 2 screws, the extension doesn t fit correctly the rear bumper and doesn t stick the rear fender.

Does someone can send me some pics of these extensions mounted on the car, or try to explain me how can i mount them correctly ?

Best regards, Mug

PS: excuse my poor english, i m french wink.gif
I believe (someone correct me if im wrong) that you need to go to a body shop and they use some high quality glue that will seal the back end on... I have them sitting in my room right now and know what you are talking about. It cannot be held on by only those 2 screws..

Damn, i feel much better now that i know i m not the only one having this problem ^^

I ve send a PM to chrisc asking him how to mount it correctly, but i don t have answer yet.
I just talked to someone that put them on. You will use 2 screws on the inner fender, and double sided tape for hte rest. I'm pretty sure that's how everyone did it and that's how I'll be doing it.

others use a silicone sealant on the backside of the extension, press it on there real hard and prop it to stay.
