I make ic pipe kits for our cars, and there are other people out there that make ic piping too (but i agree...very small amount of people make a bolt on kit).... ive done 4 or 5 kits for people on this board. I think the main thing is that people just try to save cash and run 20 couplers all over the place rather than spending the extra bucks getting a bolt on kit with cool welds using less couplers. It is all about the looks when it comes down to it cause having extra couplers really cant hurt the air flow too much? On the other hand....every little bit helps!!!

very true...i totally forgot about that. I had that happen to me 2 times.... and it is always the coupler that is impossible to get to, or the one next to something very hot!
that only happens on those cheap home depo couplers that were never ment to support the weight of steal IC piping. i had my cheapo ones blow off on me too, right next to a hot downpipe (why does it always happen on the highway?).
now im using the t-bolt clamps and NEVER had any issues with them, in almost over a year of using them. i had some of my piping welded (the stuff under the car) , but i perfer having the whole thing in easy to take apart sections. that way its easy to take apart, when you need to do some work on your car . if you get the correct clamps from day one, youll never have a problem with them

Problem with the ST205 WTA cooler... true that the coolant doesn't get heat soak as easily, but once it's soaked, it stays soaked for ages.

i agree with art totally.
if you use GOOD clamps and couplers, you can have 0 problems.
ive never had a coupler blow loose, or anything of the sort.
then again, i started from day one with good hightempsilicone couplers, and T-bolt clamps.
when my 3s goes in, ill be switching from aluminized steel to aluminum.. some if it will be welded, but it will still need a few couplers, cause you need to be able to get it in and out in sections, like art said.

tangcla have a look at Brashboy (www.brashboy.net) they were selling one for the ST205 @ 218.000Yen!!!!!I am not sure about the core,it looks like a Blitz to me.

ouch... I think I might even stick with the top mount WTA unit and go water injection into the intake manifold... seems to work better that way! They say it lowers intake temps by up to 24 degrees...

My dad has to use a welded peice on his truck. He's running around 30psi though. He's always told me that it's best to have a solid piped from the charged side to the intake. I don't think it would matter for the people running 5-10psi. What would be the limit though?

There is not set number where couplers just start to blow off... it depends on a lot of conditions and will be different for each person. I have blown off couplers on my first 5sfte setup at 6psi a bunch of times so it can happen under 10psi. The easiest way to know for sure when you hit your own limit is when you blow off couplers all the time. If your find yourself out on the side of the road adjusting couplers more and more often you should start looking into welding some of them together. That is how i started making ic piping... I was uping the boost and around 9psi i was blowing off couplers every time i would full throttle it! I was not using t clamps at that time but i just got sick of being under the car on the side of highways! Not Safe... haha.

no problems.
ive hit 15psi @ the track, and run 10+psi daily, and have NEVER had a hose pop off.
its all about using the proper clamps and couplers, and getting them good and tight.

yeah, you cant compare the hardware store junk to t-bolts. sure its good to get really hard to reach stuff welded, but for everythihng else, if you get tbolts you will NEVER have one blow off.

I would bet hyde has the extra lips welded on the ends of his piping to help avoid a blow off
