Whose from Arizona? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #33890 33 posts Started by Supersprynt
Well eventually I'd like to move outta the northeast. I have always been attracted to the west, Hawaii would be a dream but I've also thought about Arizona too.

So my question is, how hot does it get? If you live there/been there do/did you enjoy it? After I graduate I think I'll take a trip but this will satisfy my curiosity now. tongue.gif

Arizona is not really that hot, well it is, but in Florida you have humidity, which sucks even more. I was in Arizona for 3 months in summer time, it was like 115 outside and we were fine (just had to drink alot of water) here in florida, if it hits 90 and you go outside your f*cked.

To live, is to sufferTo survive, thats to find meaning, in the suffering....
the highest i saw was 140, and i don't think it actually hit it.
i lived in AZ till i was 14 or 15.

definately an awesome state n all, but if you want to start a family there you might want to reconsider.
no offense meant, just stating facts, but on the Survey for intelligence Arizona came in dead last of the states.

The schooling system isn't amazing, that's part of the reason my parents moved.

northeast kicks ass

Except for house prices, taxes & winter sure.

The education thing I didnt know at all, I also dont know how long I'd live there, and I'm in no way ready for a family.

I want a warm state with no snow, basically. I dont like Cali because its a warm NY with more rules and if Arnold can get elected there then I will never live there in fear of who else can be elected. Maybe New Mexico or something. I'd move to Hawaii in a heartbeat if I could afford it, but thats just as expensive as western CT.

No I havent. My aunt lives in Scottsdale so I might go check it out at some point, definately would before I made such a huge decision ontop of checking out jobs or even going for an interview while visiting.

If you like dirt, rocks, nongreen plant life, and not going out in the summer...then Arizona is the place for you.

I lived there for 12 years and the only thing positive I'll ever claim about AZ is its people. The people are really nice. You head down to Tempe on a Saturday night with the ASU crowd, say "Hi" to anyone on the street, and 90% of the time someone will hit ya with a friendly "Hi" right back. So thats always good...but I don't think it balances out the all the negatives I eventually got tired of.

I like green trees, completely shaded roads from overhanging trees, 78deg constant weather, the beach, entertainment, and being able to surf one day and snowboard the next. So I've always known I was going to move back to So Cal.

Actually I'm headed back to AZ this weekend. One of the few good things that AZs environment provides is a lot of good hiking and rock climbing. Gonna be rock climbing the Supersition west peak before it gets too hot. Doing this run in 110+deg weather is not an option.

Not many other places you can find a run like that. Only takes ~4hrs.

LOL, yeah Hawaii would be nice. Have heard a few claustrophbic claims from people who've attempted to live there, but if you stick it out past the first couple of months supposedly it passes.

You trying to get some surf in?

hey guys i was wondering the same thing, ive been to az in scottsdale for winter breaks to golf basically but i am considering about moving out there when i graduate from school, going for comp sci/EE minor but ive never been there for summer but the winter and golfing there was amazing i must say, would south carolina be a better spot for work/golfing cause thats pretty much all i like to do?
If bush having previously resided/governed in texas is seriously your reasoning for not considering texas, you should probably just stay up in the northeast... not many people like him down here either, but this isnt about politics. Ive lived in texas all my life... and i must say, contrary to the beliefs, everyone is really nice, theres some cool cities, schools are good (in most areas)... Its not humid hot down here.. its just a less extreme (better) version of Arizona.

I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club!

I wasnt really all that serious. I hate Bush, so you kinda end up disliking everything Bush. Its funny if people from his homestate arent liking him. My uncle lives near Houston. I think thats getting to "southern" for me. AZ is more west, I dont know if I'm making sense there.

What I really need to do is a cross-country tour and check out the country.

Or just save for hawaii.

I actually really like AZ, I have family that lives in Prescott Valley over there. I've spent a few weeks over there. Yes its true that the dryness does make it feel less hot than a humid climate. I was over there and was in Jerome the summer of '03 and it hit 125 there and it was pretty hot but just hot. It was alot different when i got home and it was 95 and 95% humidity, I just felt wet for like 3 weeks.

But it all depends on where you move to in AZ, Prescott is really nice and lots of ppl are moving over there because its a nice safe community but I didnt care for Phoneix, spelling?, to much. & A/C is a must, you can rig something wink.gif
