Tein suspension - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #34033 17 posts Started by team_omega
Was Wondering how good the tein suspension for the GT's? because the tein suspension was made for the ST models. Don't know if its good for the GT because the GT weighs more than the ST.
welcome to the millionth thread this month about springs lol.

Since the GT weighs all of like 50 pounds more it doesn't really matter. Tein for the Celica is Tein for the Celica, doesn't matter if it's a GT or ST it's made for both. Great springs, can't wait to get mine.

I had them for several months.... AWESOME SPRINGS! The ride was close to stock but the handling was so much nicer... Plus the drop on the car was perfect!!

But im in the process of a 3s swap which makes it more heavier, would it still be a good suspension. I mean the car will way more heavier because of the engine. And im not just talking about the springs, im talking about the Super Street Dampers. The whole kit. Any input will help.

really won't be that big of a difference. Yes it will be heavier but to the equivalent of just having a passenger or something. It's not like the car is going to weigh another 1000 pounds.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll be looking to invest some money into Tein's SS Dampers soon.
I spent about a year looking at and comparing springs.
I have never seen any negativity about tein s techs.

JDM guy made me do it.
I have them...ride quality is just like stock...but handling is better. Well, I would like them a bit stiffer but for now, that'll do until I get some Tein HA coilovers. I had them in the Supra and they were great. smile.gif

I think I'm actually going to order some Tein S techs and KYB's off ebay today. Anything else I need to get before I install these?

I think the Teins are perfect for the Hatchbacks...at least my rear end sat lower than the front end before the Teins were installed, and b/c the Teins drop lower in the front and less in the rear, the car evened out. HOWEVER, with my Coupe the wheel gap was the same all around, so just getting Eibachs with the same drop all around, was the better choice.

Eibach and Tein are both great!
Tein SS coilovers are fantastic. I have them, and I'm a believer. wink.gif

I would think that they would complement a 3SGTE swap perfectly....at least thats my plan.

3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting.
my friend has tein springs on his 7th gen. rides a little ruff but i think thats because he is usuing the stock struts.
i think tein is the overall favorite for our cars, only go with the other companies if you can get a really good deal on them smile.gif
My S-Techs are higher in the rear and lower in the front. Gives the car an aggressive stance but I don't like how it looks from the back. It doesn't look so Supra-ish like before. tongue.gif

Off-Topic, but when I have my Ground Control's installed how low do you think I should set the front and the rear?
