So I got a renewal notice yesterday and It said on the tag that my car weighed 2425 lbs. That was quite weird cause I thought the celi's always weighed more than 2800 Lbs. Anyways, its all good.

I can go down to the Dump around by me. I can fill up, and get on the scale and weigh it. That should give us the full fluid weight of the Celica.

Well they weight you when you come in with all the junk you want to dump, and then weigh you when you leave, and the difference in weight is calculated into a price, and i'm sure they want to take you for every bit they can, so I am going to say they are pretty accurate.

Thats probably w/o a driver or any fluids.

guess you want it in lbs/gallon or something....think that makes it 5.85 lbs/gallon not sure though, damn you and your imperial system

I checked the math, it's right. Full tank of gas would accordingly wiegh 87.75lbs or around 40kg. Average person is about 75-80kg, or 165-176lbs. So a full tank and person only puts you up 120kg, or 263.75 lbs. That actually is a good bit of wieght in a small car.

belts (is dry wieght with belts?)

haha, when i bought my car the title said 3700 lbs. i didn't do any research before taking it to dmv, so the new title says 3700 lbs. as well. i guess the last person just took a random stab at it.

Gross vehicle Mass for the Celica here is 1600kg.

That has to be for the gt-4, and even then, that's high. That's about 3520lbs. That's working on big sedan wieght. I didn't think the Celica was real small, but it's not big. I would guess something like 2800-2900lbs for mine. But I'm just pulling that number out of the air.

I'll go weigh my car on the truck scale around here tonight. It's accurate to 20 lbs.

Why is everyone always trying make these cars heavier than they are? Say it with me now, "CELICAS ARE LIGHT CARS!" The only heavy celica is the GT-4 which is somewhere around 3200lbs because of the AWD drivetrain. I think the perception of celicas as heavy comes from the fact that in the US, you are working with the 5sfe at best, which makes it feel heavier than it is.

Drop a Beams into your "heavy" celica and you will have similar power to weight as an Integra Type R (and only because the Type R is lightened from the factory, Otherwise the celica would own it.) Drop a 3sgte in there and you have the potential to make a fool out of anything on the streets.

So, PLEASE, stop with the "my celica is heavy" stuff. It just ain't true.

Mine weighed in 2525 last time I was at the track. This is with 17's and 1/4 tank of gas... full interior. I'd say a GT is easily over 2600... My corolla stripped bare was just a touch under 2100... my MR2 weighed 2600 even, but my MR2 is the lightest 2nd gen model avail. Typically they weigh around 2700-2800...

I'd guess only about 60lbs over a GT Celica. There isn't that much more motor in there. Turbo and intercooler and piping can't weight that much more. But wate, is there a difference in block matterial? Is the 5sfe aluminum and the 3sgte iron? I know 3sgte is iron. I can't tell what my block is just by looking at it. I really feel like this is something I should know though.

the 3sgte and 5sfe blocks are both cast iron.

My GT4 weighs in at 1420Kg on the local weigh station with me and half a tank of gas.
