Well my unit has been beat up and it was pretty much scratched to hell on the black panel side, and I could not even see the display much anymore... Well I had some time on hand and also some armor all wipes and I was cleaning everything and I decided to armor all the stereo (i was really bored) and well it turns out it pretty much made it look brand new! Almost all the scratches are unnoticable, and its a bright as the day I bought it!!!! I was so amazed! So if your Xplod unit is a bit beat up take some Armorall Wipes ($2.99 for a dispense bottle of like 30 wipes at your auto store, come in the yellow container) and wipe the stereo, and I hope you are as amazed as I am!

Also: My unit sticks out of the dash a little far, and I was curious if this is only with the detach face models or all the models. please give me your input.

yeah mine sticks out kinda far too. its normal as far as i know cause you have to have room for the face to flip out. >>

look @ the Alpine CDA 7897, (i think) it's $599 but it's freakin GORGEOUS! I have the 7894...basically the same without the phantom face. >>
