Looks to be a very dark movie, they FUBAR'ed the original Spidey story, but I'm still hoping for a good flick:

Well to start off, they completely by passed Gwen Stacy in the first one and turned alot of her story into Mary Jane. Now in the 3rd they are bringing Gwen Stacey in (Peters first g/f who died at the hands of Green Goblin on the top of a bridge.) because Kirsten Dunst doesnt wanna play MJ ne more so now they are going ot create a situation where Peter gets involved with Gwen. Then they havent confirmed it yet but Topher Grace (Eric from that 70s show) is playing Venom most likely in the 4th installment.

Lets hope that Harry becomes the 2nd Green Goblin and they dont turn him into the Hobgoblin.

looks awesome. the poster, i mean. but yeah, hope it turns out as awesome as it looks. the first movie kinda let me down, i just thought it was okay. but the second movie was tight as hell. i dunno how they're gonna top that.

Also, just did a little more digging. A source close to the project says that Harry Obsorne will most likely be Greeny but not as a foe, but as an ally as Spiderman will have 2 enemies in this film. This is not contrary to teh story as GG has in the past helped Spidey.

Yeah...she's in Spiderman 3. Something will most likely happen to her, like death, thats why this movie will be so dark.

Maybe I explained it poorly. After this film there wont be any more MJ.

i dont think its fubard...at the end of Spiderman 2, they do a closeup of MJ leading to believe that something happens to her in the next movie. kirstin dunst was annoying anyways. first one sucked, but i cant wait for the 3rd to come out.

do we have any idea who the villains will be in the 3rd movie?? I had heard they were planning on using Venom in the 4th one, which means hes outa the question for the 3rd....I really enjoyed the first two, im not much of a comic fan or anything, but i really enjoy superhero movies... sounds nerdy.

J/K. I loved Spider-Man when I was a kid. I can't wait to see how they portray Venom though. Sweetness.

Villians = sandman for sure, and there's a quite a significant buzz that at least some part of the venom story is in it as well (apparently Kristin Dunst "leaked" that venom was going to be in it at some press conference... might be a lie, but if it's true, to what extent he's in it is unknown).

No Carnage for 3. I think Venom is a possibility. They already introduced the astronaut. I hope that MJ stays for a LITTLE bit, I'm not against Gwen though. At least they're using real characters. I agree, it should have been Gwen in the first one in place of MJ. ESPECIALLY with Green Goblin and the bridge and such. Note for people that don't know...wait nm sprynt said it. Think of #1 but a blonde MJ, that's Peter's girlfriend. He has to choose between the kids and the girl, he chooses the kids, she dies. I do wish MJ would stay though.

ANYWAY. In the poster there that is NOT the black costume. You gotta remember that the black costume does not have the spider-web designs. It's flat black. It could be I suppose if just the symbiote is covering the costume, they may be altering it I guess. I won't rule it out though. I just figured it'd be flat black. I'm really really anticipating Venom if he's the badguy...like maybe black costume for a little while, then spidey loses it to Brock and Venom is born.

The costume in that poster is DEFINATELY BLACK. This isnt a debatable thing, its black. Its the ONLY black costume he ever wore and you should know better at this point in time to compare the movies to the comics, its just not the same. The costume represents anything that Peter wants, so since he knows the other costume, this is the same basically except black.

I dont think Venom will be in 3, theres a chance that they introduce him at the very end, or maybe just show how Eddie Brock (which I believe to be Topher Grace) will come in contact and the reason for the rivalry.

Oh and I doubt they will ever come out with a Carnage thats pretty far away from the original Spider-Man core.

^^ if i remember right, spideys symbiote suit had venoms symbol on it, which is a much bolder spider symbol. When brock gets the suit the same symbol is used, which is different from the spider symbol, and thus its teh venom symbol.

Now after spiderman gets rid of the symbiote, which eventually ends up on brock, doesnt he make hes own cloth black suit, this time with the original spider symbol, because he likes the look? So in fact he has two black suits, one symbiote and one regular. BUt you can tell the difference between the two by the symbol on it.

The spider on the symbiote something the symbiote came up with from knowing Peter (could read his thoughts). The reason Venom is a spider-man like at all is becaue the suit still retained what it was from being on Peter (also why Brock knew peter was spidey).

But you are right, I hadnt known about the costume that Black Cat created for him to wear afterwards. However I dont think this is part of the movie. I dont think they're going to throw in another costume simply because he wants a diff. look. Theres really no time for usless stuff. Not to mention Reed Richards was the one who helped Peter discover the truth about the costume in the first place, and I dont think they'll put him in the movie either.

The movie version of Spiderman is completley different, so basically they're going to take out what they want and use it.

I think that rendering of the suit is PERFECT.

I'm also going to throw this out here as my opinion. The symbiote controls Peter to an extent, made him do things he didnt want to. In the comics the suit even "kidnapped" Peter and went out at night while peter was unconcious. This control the suit has can explain why Peter and MJ's relationship is strained and maybe even the cause for her death or her absence (dont know if she really dies or just leaves). Considering she's all Peters ever wanted, the symbiote's the best explanation for his sudden change in attitude and thinking.

i dont think the overall story of the spider-man movies is FUBARed at all....more like altered to a point but the main story about spidey is still very true to the comics. you really can't fit years worth of awesome comic storyline into just a few movies so i think the little alterations they have for the movies are OK. now if you wunna talk about FUBARed comic going to the big screen...X-Men was the worse let-down for me
