1994 celica GT.....3sgte in a month! all helpers are welcome!!! i live in Plattsburgh, NY.
provided i can get the mount issue finished tomorrow its still possible, otherwise, im screwed.

i actually looked at defgephs parts diagrams and all of the moutns are the same part number except for the passenger side mount.

motor should be dropped in and mounted tomorrow, as long as the junkyard has the motor mount i need smile.gif
mario the only different one is the passenger side one...the rest from the ST are usable
Brian you need all the GT mounts and brackets. I posted the diagrams of the ST & GT mounts to show the differences. Look at the pictures not the part numbers wink.gif Those arent the actual part numbers, they are discription numbers. Look at the diagram again you'll notice the only one that is the same is the rear mount. The rear tranny bracket is different as well. You'll never get that engine in correctly using the ST mounts. You NEED GT parts.

Ditto on that, they are all different. Unless you can get all 4 mounts by friday your screwed.

Oh yea I have the passenger side mount, not the bracket brand new I'll sell for $90 shipped.
well i guess that ends my swap then for now.. dan, you ass telling me all along that there was only 1 different one... meh
ahh man thats too bad...well u tried and that is all you can say...how was it working outside, rather have worked in a garage or outside better.

working outsides only downfall is when the sun goes down the days over
according to parts america the rear mount is the same, and according to the diagram only the mounting bracket is different, which i have.

i have the passenger motor mount and mounting bracket and the driver side motor mount and that bracket is welded onto the car, so that works.

if i can find front and rear motor mounts before the weekend i might be set!

furthermore, i cant find anyone who sells more than just the rear or passenger side. BLARGH
Your going to have to go to Toyota to get the mounts.
You need mounts and brackets from a GT. All four GT brackets and three GT mounts. You can use your ST rear mount.

I will return one day.
junkyards and car-part.com dont come up with engine mounts
mmk well i stand corrected i must have miss understood sumthing down the line good stuff smile.gif
ordered the front and rear mounts overnight from toyota they will be here at 7:30 tomorrow morning smile.gif

looks like this swap is possible after all smile.gif

its crunch time boys

edit: 142$ i didnt have though frown.gif

Just to warn you, more random stuff will come up...and if you don't have $142, you maybe should not be swapping wink.gif

ok update, i removed the engine harness, hopefully to solder the connections tonight.

but a few things
i have serious doubts in my ability to put the harness back

one of my fuel injectors (or so im asuming) plugs , a wire got ripped, but like RIGHT at the connector, so no idea what im gonna do though

and one of the middle plugs, like, its got two prongs and two wholes, but in one of the wholes is metal like you usually see and one is missing. i didnt hear anything break, nor did i see the prong, im not even entirely sure its possible for the piece im talking about to break, but it looks like it comes from the fuel rail into the throttle body
the only one i i know of is the tps=throttle body?
not to put you down or nag, but you should have pulled the harness first thing and maybe taken that inside and work on that once the sun goes down outside you go in and work on the wires. would have been more time effective to reach your said goal. smile.gif but all that aside good luck man! hopefully your swap goes more smoothly than mine (still working on it months later)

94' ST Coupe - 5sfe Motor swap and brake swap.
Show us a pic of this plug

I will return one day.
I am glad you have the mounts taken care of...but wiring is going to take a little while i would assume. But hope you figure out what that "prong" is or was!! Good luck again...little stuff is always what kills a deadline! Nothing ever seems to go right when you actually need it too!

the motor is in, and 3 mounts are bolted down, with the 4th ready and lined up for drilling tomorrow.

oh yeah anyone interested in keeping the power steering on their ST for the swap without sourcing too many parts check it out:

i got a power steering resevoir from a wrecked GT, and i mounted it in the stock location. then i took the return line from the 7afe (remember how it unnecessarily looped back on itself?) and cut it right behind the resevoir, and attatched the return line, voila, it all mounts in the same positions as well, you just have to get: gt resevoir, gt high pressure line, and a long enough piece from the gt resevoir return line to attatch to your stock (hard line) return line.

tomorrow, boiled down to a simple phrase, is "plug and play". although i do not expect to get the motor running tomorrow, im just saying that the connections should be made.

although i do know that i will need to take pics and ask questions here as there are some plugs, vacuum hoses, etc, that i do not know where to put frown.gif
all mounts are bolted down and most of the electrical stuff is done, now i just have to connect all the hoses galore.

friends are done helping for the weekend though, so its just me, im gonna try and get some of the interior finished, its just kind of depressing because tomorrow i go back to school and wont be able to work on the car in my free time.

id say theres a solid day of work to do, if i had someone here that knew the 3sgte well, with just me, who knows how long it will take. there are hoses that arent labeled everywhere.

bit depressed right now, but ill get over it.

edit: im gonna try and get some pics tonight of stuff im not sure where to mount, like the injector resistor pack, and hoses i cant find leads for.
