Hi!

*DISCLAIMER*
I'm a bit of a nublet, I did a search, and turned up nothing. So, that being said...

I recently purchased a 1995 Celica ST for 400 bucks non-running order.

I quickly procured a 3S-GTE ST185 front clip for it, with the awd tranny. And grabbed a camry transmission off of a 5S-FE motor at a junkyard(As I didn't have the necessary parts/budget/skill to do the awd swap). Only problem is, the passenger side transaxle has a bracket that sits properly, but doesn't bolt up(No bolt holes).

Personally, as this is a fairly low budget swap (2500 total into it, car & clip), I was thinking about just drilling the holes through the iron plate as a fix. However my friend seems to think that it would be cheaper and faster just to procure another transaxle bracket that mounts straight to the block without modification.

Has anyone been in a similar prediciment, or have some expert advice on what would be best/easiet/cheapest?

Thanks in advance.

You need 6th gen GT brackets for your engine and tranny. You shouldnt really go cheap on a swap, it will kick you in the behind later.

Check the stickies on the Forced Induction section. I wrote a how-to for swapping this engine into a 6th gen ST.

you need a bracket from a 5sfe motor.

then you remove one of the intake manifold stays off the motor and bolt the bracket to the block using only 2 bolts. once u install that, youll notice that the bracket on the motor, and the bracket on the axel bolt together to lock in place.
