I got like $300 and im not sure if i should get a short throw shifter or a strut brace for my car. What would you guys get with around $300, im looking for quickness which the shifter helps but the strut bar helps that in a different way. Suggest please!


p.s. I didnt hit a deer.. my fingers slipped when i wrote that title.

so you dont want to fix the damage to your car?

if you want a front strut tower bar and arent afraid to do some drilling, get a $20 corolla strut tower bar and drill the holes for the celica's struts. then you can also get the shifter.

I'd go with the shifter. Just my opinion.

Anyway, I would go with a short shifter, because it makes a big difference in the driving experience.

SS = it'll make ur celi a lil more fun to drive because its not so annoing with those super long shiftz ><
strut = ur car will be more stiff-ish..an its nice at 1st because u will noticed the difference...but I hate when I get used to it.

I have both on my car (custom strut) but I'd say take the SS an teh 1 made by TRD. U can probally get the corolla strut cheap off ebay (like $20 unless u wanna by a offical TRD strut which iz like $250+ I think) an drill.

I say go with the strut bar. The stock shifter isn't that long. Get the strut bar and enjoy whipping around corners.

How hard is it to make a strut bar or is it easiest to just get the corolla strut bar and drill it? I think ill get the SS and try to work out a cheap strut bar.

I enjoy the TRD short shifter, but I also enjoy my Jspeed strut bar. If I had to choose, with no other suspension mods(sway bars, springs, better struts...) I would go with the shifter.

For a while the strut bar is nice, but then it leaves you wanting more. After I fix my body a bit I plan on getting sway bars, springs(I don't need coilovers since I don't plan on going that low and will never again drive off road), and some Koni shocks.

As for the shifter, it's always a nice centerpiece.
