I'll probably get flamed to hell and back for this, but generally drum brakes stop harder than disc brakes. The whole point of disc brakes is to effectively distribute fricition more evenly so theoretically, if you were going to ram your car around on a road course, you wouldn't suffer brake fade as quickly. But on cars with as little horsepower as ours, it's really just a silly gimmick.
