According to this web site, looks like there were some extra special 3sgte engines made with special pistons / witercooled intercooler etc. They have the front clip for sale:

I hate it when they don't tell you how many miles are on the engine though

i really hate to the bearer of bad news but thats is way old school news. guys have been doin that swap into 5th gens for awhile and Defgeph has the RC motor which also has the A2W intercooler setup.correct me if im wrong but wasnt the carlos edition for homlogation rules of the wrc.

Can't say 100%, but don't think that the internals were 'forged' on any of the production 3SGTE motors.

Yes that's right, the CS (Carlos Sainz) was the UK model (and maybe elsewhere?????) and the RC was the JDM model. It's a shame they cheated with the ST205 and got banned or that would have been a lot more popular

even the president of wrc said he had never seen anything so ingenious in his career.

but at any rate, didnt they cheat after they wont the championships? only their points from that year were removed, not the two championships won by the 3sgte

they had a one way valve that opened to let in more air around the restrictor plate, and when inspection time come around and they pulled the piece out it would slam shut and be aple to be opened. there was a thread about this not to long ago.
