Its a gt. I have had a diagnostics check and the toyota dealership said that i had a bad egr valve. They didnt say anything about an ignitor. That cost $70 i think. So i really dont want to do that again. But do you think thats still it?
Oh, and they told me that it was probablly my egr valve so I bought a new one i think it was $170 at advanced auto, put it on, still no rev

Did the dealer run a diagnostic? They should have been able to tell you the Diagnostic Trouble Codes. It sounds like they didn't help you any by saying your egr valve.
Personally I would tell them that I wanted a printout of the codes from the time you they told you it was the egr valve.
Without the codes your most likely to spend a of of time chasing opinions. Some may be exactly right. You already know it can get expensive replacing parts.
So far your out the money for the egr valve and the price for the visit to the dealer. Iâd bring the question to them and ask them to give you the diagnostic codes from the time when they did the âdiagnosticâ, or give you a reason why you canât have them.
Theyâre willing to charge for the time they should be able to demostrate why they diagnosed the egr valve when there still is a problem.
If thereâs a code your time will be better spent.
btw. Why do you have a new ecu?
