But make the throw much longer....if you look on rally cars...they have long shifters about 12" long, but the top only moves about 2" for any gear. ST205`s had seriously long shifters...get rid and buy a shorter after market one....makes changing gear much better and faster due to the shorter throw which far outwieghs the extra 2-3" your hand has to travel to reach the gear stick in the first place.
