7th gen seats - 6G Celicas Forums
You have to cut off the 6gc bracket and weld it onto the 7gc seat. Def not a bolt in job. And no, you can't drill and tap holes in the 6gc for the 7gc seats. They won't be strong enough in a wreck. A few people have 7gc seats. Shoot them a PM.

you have to cut off the stock 7gc bracket and weld on the 6gc bracket, or at least thats what i remember my brother doing. those 7gc seats are great, very comfy and hold well
1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S AE86-Largeport 4AGE 9.4:1 CR-264* Cams-TRD 4-2-1 Header-PR 8kg/mm front coilover/KYB AGX shock-TRD 6kg/mm rear spring/TRD 8-way adjust shock
what part of the bracket...the bracket on the seat or the one holding the seat down..pictures guys please help!!!car got vandalized by haters!!!
well you dont really have to cut and weld that is what most people say! but i have install some 7th celica gts seats in my celica st and all i did was redrill all new 3 holes and bought new nuts to tigthen everything up. The seats are really stablize, But to just say its depends on how u do it! just my 2cent pointer
>
Sure they're stable now, but think of the force in a wreck, they'll rip right out.

^agreed. that doesnt sound too safe. anyway, the way Punch(david) did mine was by cutting and re-welding the 7gc seat mounts (not the brackets that slide the seat back and forth, just the tips with the holes). i'll take pics soon and post them here.
anyone got any pics of the 7th gen seats? my seats are in need or repair.. unless there are decent covers that will fit NICE and not like the junky ones you can get at autozone

Try this http://www.great-covers.bigstep.com/
They're exact fit covers, sort of like Katzkin, but not leather.

there harder then they look to fit in, and take some tweeking, mine still need some work, there angled out a bit and a little to close to the door, but look great and are very comfortable, I'll get pics later.
as far as install, you have to exstend some bult holes, and twist others like it shows in Punch'es pics.
