would st205 coilovers fit an st202 ss-III? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #36342 10 posts Started by Edophus
as per title, would a set of coilovers made for the st205 gt4 fit onto a st202 ss-3 with superstrut, i know the spring and damper rates would be a lot stiffer than a purpose made kit but i'm not sure thats a problem as i'm after quite a stiff setup.
Fronts - yes
Rear - no.

ST205 is 4WD so rear suspension is different due to driveshafts etc.

Just installed TEIN GT-four springs to my SSIII cuz i was tired of search for SSIII spring. Springs are exactly the same - and to be honest - they are even the DAMN SAME as AT200 - only difference is spring rate.

GT-four has a bit stiffer springs in rear then the SSIII its about 10mm/g stiffer (or how the hells it writes biggrin.gif)

Springs will work - coils - nope, without the modifications - no chance to fit them.

I have some lowering springs for the SS-III coming from espelir in japan, they are specifically for the car, took a few days of searching about, but they should be suitable spring rates.

I checked out the rear struts and they dont look the same as a gt-fours. I'll probably get a set of uprated front shocks for a st205 and get uprated rear shocks for an st202.

I had the advantage of owning an SSII and an ST205 at the same time.

ah, cool, you know what i mean though, there are to many people out there on internet forums that regurgitate information, just cause they read it somewhere, regardless of whether its right or not, i always read what other say, and armed with that information go and find out for myself, anyway thx for the info.
