Anyone else feel this way - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #36495 14 posts Started by bloodrain
Ok well for the past few months i've been lookin for a car. Im not sure which car, but a car. The more I look, the more it seems nothing is for me. I love the STI's but they are too expensive, i like evo's but they are made by mitsubishi, enough said. The SRT-4 seemed like a good bet, but then i really didnt want a dodge. Then the day I saw a nice convertable M3 (2001) for 18k I went to the dealership and it as sold already. Is there any car that is right for me. I love my celi and all but I hate 2 doors and the power is more than pathetic. So is there any car, 2000 or newer that suits me.. it doesnt look like it. Anyone else feel this way? So right now Im thnkin of just savin up a bit more and putting a nice down payment on the 07' Limited Edition STI, leather, sunroof, lots of cool little extras.

Im with you guys.. It sucks.. Like I want somthing new, cause im bored with my car. Somtimes i think eh il stick with it, its paid for and it cost no money to mantain it.

Look into a is300.. you could get a nice used one for around 18k
4 door corolla xrs, 6 speed
02+ altima v6

the problem with those cars is they dont say 'sporty' to me it says wanna be rich person. I do like luxury, but i'll have plenty of time to drive a cadillac when im 60, for not I want somethin fast, 4 door, and is kinda rare, so an STI fits perfect, except the only one I want is out of my price range atm.

The is-300 & bmw 330i are both very sporty. BMW's are a drivers car. I would suggest driving one, With a 00 330i you can run about 14.4 1/4 mile stock, and a flat 14 with little upgrades.

bmw's are really high maintaiance and expensive to fix from what i hear, and the only BMW i like is the 05' M3, and ya, thats outta my price range.

I'm currently in the process of retiring from the tuning world. I'm graduating soon and as soon as I sell off all of my cars and car parts... I'm gonna buy an IS300 and call it good. Simple as that...

Thats what you think.

If its in your blood I dont think you'll ever fully retire. My condition is caused by my father who currently has a 350z. He's had well over 100 different cars and doesnt seem to be slowing, its kinda sick.

its a hobby, some people find new hobbies, some people stick with it (like your father) i just wish I had more money so I could feed my hobby needs.

Well I disagree and agree. Loving cars isnt a hobby and being addicted to them, modifying them can be said as one, but he's not modding them, just buying a new one every couple years.

I'm in the exact same boat right now. Been looking at different cars. I wanted to keep the Celi as a DD and get a newer 2003 and up performance car, something AWD or RWD for 20ish thousand. Looked at a Pontaic GT0: really fun car, too bad it's american and looks like a cavalier. Looked at an RX8, sucked. WRX, too expensive and the ones in my price range have had the crap pulled out of them. MR2 Spyer's are nice but I want more power than that. Definitely no on the Mustang.

Other than that there's nothin for what I'm looking for. So in the meantime I'm gonna put 2-3 thousand into modding the Celica.

try searching www.modifiedcartrader.com for your price range. you might be surprised at what you find.

so they say,

first its gonna be like:
Its time to change my airfilter. wow i think this old cold air intake from the celica fits the is300.
(3 hours later) wow this engine sounds so mean with the intake on.
(4 hours later) wow this turbo i just installed is great i just need to tune it a bit.
( 12 hours later) How do I get this supra engine to clear the raditor support? bah!

oh a more serious note, some day the celica will have to go. I'm gonna buy myself a motor cycle and a hybrid. saving gas is always fun. smile.gif
