I was told that the engine 4AGE 20 VALVE with FORGED TURBO PISTONS 8.5:1 will bolt on my 1995 ST without mods ??? I don't know about the topic so I would like some of you with more acknowlegde to let me know if this is true on not ???

by on u mean into? if u mean put the whole engine in yes,....direct bolt in. But if your talking about swaping pistons, i highly doubt it.

will the 4age pistons fit into a 7afe.....short answer yes they will

BUT you need to modify the wrist pin/con rod because 7afe = locking 4age = full foating...

why do you need to change pistons anyways?

8:5:1 20V pistons aren't gonna make that compression in a 7AFE. Piston's are hardly "bolt-on"... in fact, there aren't any bolts.

isn't the 20v 5 valves per piston, your 7afe only has 4 per piston,..........unless you're talking about head swapping?

wat do valves have to do with the pistons?

He mentioned 20 valve because it helps identify what generation 4age engine. He wants to take the pistons from the 4age (20 valve) and put them into the 7afe. From what I remember readying is, yes the pistons will fit on the 7afe rods BUT it will increase compression of the 7afe and it will not float on the rods properly. But it is believed once the engine heats up the pistons will float easier.

Sorry, I just copy the article as appears on the email that my friend sent me.

I meant the whole 4AGE engine and It has 20 VALVE FORGED TURBO PISTONS 8.5:1. I think someone here already told me it a direct bolt on engine, I just wanna make sure before I make any investment.

yes the motor is a direct drop in...minus wiring harness. and the 4age with the forged pistons is a better choice to turbo.

i meant the grooves, there are four grooves for the 16v while the 20v has 5 grooves

if you read the 7afte sticky (on compressor maps and ect.) you'll see a section on the 4ag(z)e piston and your right they do increase compression to about 11.XX:1 in a 7afe motor which can be helped with a 2mm headgasket but IS NOT the best way to do it. and i highly doubt the warming of the motor will help piston float cause the rod also needs to be machined for an oil passage i believe. Doggy tried it...its a no go.. the best way if you want forged pistons in a 7afe is to have ARIAS, CP, JE or WISECO make you a custom set probably around 800$ or so

it will bolt in but you'll need to rewire..

nothing just "drops in" or " bolts on ". its a custom swap, plain and simple. if you never did a swap, its going to be a lot of work and research to make it all work right. yes, the motor fits, but the wiring harness needs to be redone, and you have to spend some time working out bugs to make things run right.

do as much research as you can before you start your project. if you dont, youll regret it later.

Ok. I'm not planing on doing it myself for different reasons.
I don't have a garage
I don't have much free time

but I have a friend that owns a shop he's very good mechanic and I talked to him about it he said that If I get the diagrams he may do it for me. So I'll keep doing research 'till I feel I have as much info as possible. if some of you guys have anything that can be help PLZ send it to me.

ok i know were not talking about the 7agte because in this post alone there is alot of wrong info
the compression the 4agze pistons 8.0:1 (i think)got 11.0:1 compression which was 4agze pistons on a 7afe bottom and a 7afe head now 4agze pistons in a 7afe with 4agze pistons and 4agze head compression still increase but only a little i have documented this from my set up

now on the 20v motor swap+ turbo+ piston/internal work if your on a budget i would go 4agze instead then turbo

ok. sorry for the lack of acknowledge but I'm planning to get a black top 20 V if the engine requires turbo then I'll have to do it, but if not I won't. now I have a few wiring diagrams for the 4age and the 7afe but what I'm trying to do here is get as much info as you guys can provide me because I'm not an expert on this as you can tell.

well if you need a blacktop wiring diagram which the only place that has the most knowledge about it is at www.club4ag.com also the blacktop comes without a turbo and is a high comp motor best beat buy a whole front clip
