did you check your connector that connects to the cluster???if not that then you might have a bad cluster...if not that then check your speed sensor on your transmission...

where is the dimmer switch located? ill try to change the fuse also. i think fuse #10a
sorry, the dimmer switch is located to the left of the steering wheel. It is a round knob.

I had the same problem. I checked all of my interior fuses and changed a couple of them, that worked. Hope that helps.
Dont forget to check the ones under the hood.

well i shouldn't be checking the ones on my hood cause they're lil' different. i checked the one under my steering wheel and checked "gauge" light. i think i might have to change the 10a fuse because when my previous owner put in the indiglo gauge, she put the red wire in the fuse. kinda confusing but yeah that's how it was pulled out. i think its bad. ill change and tell you guys if its the fuse or not. thanks batman and massbrandon.
ok i found something weird. here are some pics:

here's the problem. i found two similar wires. the two that has the white swirlies. what's the other one for? one is fat and one is skinny and long. batman/coomer/people help! i drove in the dark yesterday from school and was scared to death. no interior lights at all. that was the only car i have.

btw, yesterday was raining like crazy even my wipers couldn't help me on the highway frown.gif

u check fuses??

yup. i replaced the red ones which are the 10a and also replaced the 7.5a fuses. nothin lit up? the red ones are mostly for the interior lights such as gauge lights and heater lights and such. now i dont know what else to do? does the relays have anything to do with it?
look for the "DOME" fuse under the hood.
i replaced that. here's the problem. i have a 95 and my motor is a 96+ with the 5 extra hp. is that the problem then? im so so so so so so so so confused guys. kindasad.gif
ok yeah i had that problem once when i install my ground kit...the whole interior gauges didn't work at all..check the fuse box under the hood..check the main fuses..the fuses that you have to remove srews and stuff..i woul dcheck mine but its like 12 midnight...
ok i put in my white gauge face back in. the lights are working again. now im really confused cause it can't be the fuse. must be some sort of wire problem. but oh gosh this is killing me.
so these white gauge faces are just pieces of plastic, right? nothing else to them like indiglo or anything?

also do/did the climate control and cigarette lighter light up?
if you're going to spend a bit of time troubleshooting this then you might want a temporary work-around. maybe duct tape some keychain leds to the steering column to illuminate the gauges while you're trying to get things to where you want them.

There is one more thing that might be wrong.
Check out whats up with ur gauge dimming thing (its a knob that regulates how bring ur interior lights are) if its disconected or brken all the interior lights will be off.

no the white faces are indiglo gauges. they glow and come with the color button. now that my white face is in, the gauge cluster lights up. but the other lights under my clock dont work like the climate controls and stuff.

hey niskyspy, i checked that. what i found out was that there are two different ones (wires). I think my 96+ motor has the different style (skinnier) wire. while my 95 stock gauge dimmer has the fat wire. it's connected to nothing and i can't connect them together which they are very different in size.
did the climate control and stuff work before you took out the indiglo gauges the first time?

if so.
the dimmer knob normally regulates all the lights (gauge, cc, stock stereo, cig-lighter). so if all those are out it *does* suggest something in that area.

what about the light-ring around the ignition and door courtesy lights (some celica's have these lights, others don't)? and the dome light (all should have a dome light)? none of those are controlled by the dimmer on my car. so if they light up fine on yours that points to something related to the dimmer and not higher up the line, closer to the battery/alternator.

it has to be the dimmer. mines connected to some other weird wire that goes all the way down to the fender. then there's the other one from my 99 motor that's taped behind my gauge cluster. my key ring lights up but nothing else does except the cd player. the gauge only light up when the white face gauge are installed cause of the wire that makes it glow. anyways any one else who can help? thanks to those who have helped me out even though i still can't get my lights back on. i tried everything you guys told me. nothing. im stuck.
