So whats the deal with the tubular exhaust manifolds and 3" down pipe for the 3sgte on ebay. Are they any good? do they crack? do any of u 6gc members have them?

i have both, downpipe seems alright durability as long as you reinforce the welds, i guess same thing with the tubular manifold, but id stick with the stock log style manifold, any power given by the tubular manifold will just be top end, and the log manifold will make it on the bottom end, plus with the log manifold you can use stock heatshield which makes your engine bay look better.

Keep the stock exhaust manifold. If you want a 3 inch downpipe, get an aussie.

yah listen to what the others are saying...the ebay manifolds are pretty much crap and will crack from what i also have heard. the ssautochrome downpipes tho are pretty nice. i didnt reinforce weld mine and its still kickin'. almost 1 year now. u just gutta make sure to put a flexipipe after it. alltrac.net guys also agree that the ssautochrome downpipes are pretty good for the money.

also make sure your running a downpipe brace..otherwise your in for cracking no matter wat
one thing i noticed. it seems the ebay ssauto ones turn a very dark purple color once they have been used for a while. the berk ones on the other hand turn a golden color. anyone else notice that?

The berk pipe is stainless steel. The SSauto Is stainless plated. Difference in color is from the stainless coating wearing away.

do you guys know all those manifolds and DP from Ebay are "Made in China". If you looking for a "Good" quality manifold from Japan...it cost you almost $1000.....
Ok Everyone has been talking about manifolds lately..check out these manifolds . He can make them to be shaped like anything...If there is enough interest...i can have him make a mock up on my 3sgte...and have him make quite a few of them..so the price can come down....but anyway he is really good at making these...everything is TIG welded, and reiforced mig welded..also made out of heavy duty stainless steel!

These Manifolds will definately gain HP...because he makes sure that every pipe is teh same length unlike the stock log style manifold...but i jsut want to gauge interest before i tell the guy to start mocking one up..to make sure it is worth his time...

same length doesn't always equal more hp...same length is more important on an NA car then it is on a F/I car.....plus just saying "these will defenitly gain hp" without even having a dumby manifold or a flow chart, or a dyno....proves useless
well these manifolds are also a lot less restrictive then the stock manifolds, therefore making them more efficient..

i agree manny, i was merely commenting to make sure people werent thinking that log > tubular because stock > SSautocrap
i also never said that the stock manifold was the best there was for the motor either....full-race will defenitly out perform a stock one...but if all your doing is bending tubes to a cool shape and claiming sum BS number well then thats no good..an improper design (like the one on your car brian) acts like a radiator releasing heat temperature (energy) from the exhaust gases...this causes a power loss..not much but it does...hotter gases = better spool and kinetic energy..with proper design, materials and labor a tubular manifold can be beneficial over the stock...but you can't claim anything (like someone already did) without actually producing 1 and testing it...thats all i'm sayin if your not totally power oriented and you want some bling then by all means its fine...but if your function over form then there is a difference

These manifolds take this kid atleast 15 labor to make them becuase he is so intricate with each length and it is made out of high grade stainless steel...furthermore the steel he uses helps retains the heat to create a faster spool (without jeopardizing teh integrity of the steel). I am planning on buying one for my car and once i do i will prove that it does make a difference.
