Can't put rotor back after new e-brake shoes - 6G Celicas Forums

the freakin' rotor won't get in place after I replaced the shoes of the parking brake on the back wheels.
I loosened teh cable at the lever and nothing works

My car is pwning me!!! help!

It's not a simple case of 'loosening' the cable I'm afraid. You'll need to adjust the hub mechanism. Get yourself a manual - or, if you don't know what you are doing, get an expert to show you. Brakes are not something that you wnat to get wrong.

I did the other side, and there don't seem to be anything else to adjust, I have both a hayne's and the the toyota manual on brakes. No help from there.

The only thing adjustable in there is the adjuster itself, which is already to the "smallest" setting for new pads.

If the adjuster located at the bottom of each pair of brake shoes is at it's smallest setting and the hand brake is all the way down you either have something installed wrong or you have the wrong brake shoes.
