3sge into a 5sfe slot - 6G Celicas Forums

so i need a new engine, bottom line. i was thinking of just another 5sfe, but then i was thinking about the 3sge, i'm not heavy into turbos, so the na aspect isn't bad, but i was wondering if anyone new what all should be replaced in order to sync well with the 3sge, ie, wiring harness, tranny, ecu, etc. just trying to see what i'm in for, b/c i'm leaning towards the 3sge. thanks in advance for any help guys and girls. cheers.

A great resource is the sticky at the top of the page too. Lots of info about the 3SGE and 3SGTE swap. Basically, you've gotta do some mount work, swap the harnesses, and get a custom clutch disk that will match up. If you're not turboing, your GT tranny should hold the power just fine. For more info, check out the swap. There are several people on here who have done that swap.

P.S. get a CLIP. It will save you a lot of time/money hunting down hard to find parts that may or may not come with just the engine.
with a GT you wont need to modify any mounts
