I know......it's not a 3s, but I guess the Celica will just have to wait for a heart transplant, the CRX comes first this year. For those who don't know, it's a b16a, 170hp 1.6L swap. I got it for $1500 and that included integra axles, ecu, wiring harness and sub-harness, hasport motor mounts, and best of all, I got him to throw in his full 3" cat-back exhaust all well. Not a bad deal in my opinion. =] I know the Celica's jealous...you can see it scowling in the background. I'm so pumped!!

I think the Celica is the hottest car ever made, that's why I own one. But if I wanted, I could spend $7,000 on that CRX, and it would be a GT-4 eater. Least you can do is give credit where credit is due. =]

It would take far more than 7k to allow a CRX anywhere near a GT-Four, let alone eat one I can only assume that your (hopefully temporary) insanity is due to the fact that you have never actually been in a GT-Four.....

There's nothing wrong with hondas.

It's the people that drive riced out civics that piss me off. Because it's so incredibly cheap to buy 'aftermarket' parts for, people rice that **** up. I have no respect for anyone with a stock civic with a huge wing, coffee can exhaust, vinyl stickers, or altezza tail lights.

The less you do to a civic, exterior wise, the better it looks. If people keep it simple, it looks pretty good.

I don't know much about the 4AGE, so I can't say. But you need to specify if you're talking about a b16 in a civic, or crx? Makes a big diff. crx's are a couple hundred pounds lighter.

Buddy has a h22a turbo'd in his HF crx and really it's gotten beat by 240's and tegs.

G'luck tho. some are faster then others lol.

im also from minnesota, and have never really liked honda, ask anybody whos not a honda owner, the dsm guys, the nissan guys, etc, there's just too many hondas, they're like the same thing, engine swap, unpainted car, some rust, bumble bee sounding, etc etc,....you just get sick and tire of seeing them, its like everyone has them to a point where i just say "oh, its just another civic/honda, etc",...i feel its the civic the gives hondas a bad rep out here on the streets, i've always liked the h22 vtec prelude, the del sol Vtec si, and i give respect to the s2k .. i'll tell you this, i give respect where respect is due, but most of these civics running around are pretty much stock with maybe an "intake" and the ones that are swapped are pretty fast, its just like the celica,....swap in the 3sgte, or a 3sge, 4age or something and its got potential,.....and might i add on that some people who owns a honda automatically think its cool and fast, but yet they have no idea how bad of a rep it has gotton to non-honda owners, i believe i have said enough, but feel i am still missing something, o well, this is how i see hondas....

LOL. You guys are all crazy.... Okay, first off, maybe it did belong in off topic, but I'm ready and willing to open it to the discussion of the b16a vs. 4AGE. Then it's on topic right? (Although GT4WRC did a pretty good job of covering that already.)

As far as the whole honda thing goes, I'm really pretty much in agreement with most of you. There's way too many, coffee can exhaust, custom tail light, crap sounding, crap looking honda's(especially civics) driving around now-a-days. But at the same time, anyone who doesn't aknowledge the quality of Honda's obviously doesn't know what they're talking about.

So, that being said, I love the CRX's. They're my second favorite car ever made. But like everyone is saying, they're all over the place, and I hate driving a boring, not even that fast, car. Around here there's almost no engine swaps, so I'll be a rareity, and what's more, I'll have an absolute blast putting the engine in. I look at it as good practice for when I finally get a 3SGTE. So, I appreciate those of you who appreciate the deal I got, and what I'm doing, and are telling me to have fun. As for the rest of you, go ahead, make fun of me, I don't care, cause I'm pumped about doing this swap, and that's all that matters! lol.

Good luck with the B16 swap though, thats going to be a seriously fun car.

As far as GT-Four being eaten by a CRX, its very possible. Its all about which car has the larger budget, whos the better driver, and who pushes more boost and is tuned better. Something fun to check out is Homemadeturbo.com, they have some hilarious videos of them thrashing on some turbo d16's that are stripped down to nothing, and they're running quarter mile times well within what a BPU'd GT-Four would be running. However if you build either car they can be extremely fast, it just depends on the three "B"s mentioned before- budget, better driver, boost/tune.

Depressing food for thought-
$ for $, if you were to total the cost of each car and it's buildup to get it to the same level of performance, the CRX would undeniably come out on top.

my 5s swap in my st was done for a week or so. And i but a gsr on the 1 and 9. I have to say my cousin was always right. even at 170hp in that gsr....vtech and all that jazz....i still rolled passed his silly azz in 4th gear while he was still blowing out black smoke and making way too much noise. mind you...this is with a clutch that is slipping.

so....granted the crx is muuuuch lighter than the gsr....maybe you could out run a 5s...but isnt it sort of over kill to say you can get at a gt4???

Whatever. It's all relative. All I was saying was that strickly "bang for bucks", the CRX is better. You could sink $10 grand into a $500 CRX, and have something that could beat a GT-4. Or you could sink $10 grand into a $20,000 GT-4, and have something a CRX, or nearly any honda for that matter, would never be able to touch. Plus the Celica looks hella cool. I'm not turning trator to my kind, I love the Celica, but people that rip on Honda's just cause it's a Honda, or that don't know what they're talking about, and say their ST can beat a b16 civic, etc. need to get their facts strait.
