today i was driving down the road after work and i came to a stoplight in town. had my windows down listening to some taproot when some guy probably in his 40's yells at me. so i look over after i turn the tunage down and he said, "is that the 4 wheel drive celica?". lol, it kinda stunned me cause i really wasnt expecting that. i thought he was gonna either tell me to turn it down or ask for directions. >> i thought about saying hell yea and speed off at the green light but i just turned and said, "i wish!". just wondering if anyone else has had this encounter.

I was working once and a couple of kids walked by and said "dude that's an all wheel drive celica" It's so sweet. But I just let them go LOL.

Another celica owner in my town thinks I've got the 4wd one, she says I was going down a road too fast one time (she was behind me) for a regular celica, cause I woulda been slipping had I had just a 2wd. I didn't feel it was my place to correct her. >>

I've never been asked if it AWD, but I'm always asked if I have the Turbo version.

Ive never been asked about it being AWD.....although i usually get people asking if its turbo, and even my friends have people tell them how much they like my car, even though its pretty stock looking.....lol....oh well, its flattering, and just imagine what everyone will think after there is a turbo in it and its not stock anymore!! W00t! >>

Yeah...today I was asked by some guy in a 69 GTO if it was turbo. He has a 92 All-Trac and says it's awesome.

I had like only one person thinking that my car is a gt-4 and another person thinking my car has turbo. I have a lot of people thinking that it's a supra.

For as much as everyone rags on our engine its not horrible. Just because it looks classy, I mean seriously.. I'm not saying its "fast", but everyone thinks that cop cars are fast, and most cruisers (around here at least) have a top end of 115. Granted we dont have the fastest cara round, but it can hold its own when put with cars in its class.

Just my 2 and a half cents. >>

i was like no its a celica then revved the engine and they BOV went PSSSHHH then his jaw dropped and he slowly put his head back into the store

Too many people think that my car is a supra! But a lot of my friends love my car. They just love the fact that my car has just enough. NOT TOO MUCH NOT TOO LITTLE. Dropped, rims, and all black! I even get that from older people, 40+.

once at a mcdondalds drive thru one girl said to another "i think its a supra"...i laughed cuz i was completely stock at the time besides the intake...and just to think someone would confused a 4,000 car for a 40,000 sports car..well that makes me smile >>

I never get compliments on my car. When my girlfriend drives it, she gets compliments.. what's the deal with that? Closest thing I've ever had for a compliment is <redneck_voice>not bad, for a rice burner</redneck_voice>

I haven't ever got the gt4 q, but so many ppl think my car is turb its not funny. I'm like, NO. and they still think so.
I'm pretty sure its because of the K&N, that thing really makes a loud warble noise.. >>

Anyways... its kind of disappointing because the cars in my hometown are unbelievable, I live down near the bay, at the end of the main 3 lane road that goes from the bay to the city.. SOoo long story short, at about 12-3 am EVERY DAMN NIGHT I here engines revving and tires squeeling >>

Sometimes in the middle of the night when it gets really bad/loud, I go jump in my car and take it for a spin, but Its dissapointing pulling up at the lights vs a GTR skyline and a TT supra, and them perving at my car (thinking man thats sexy), and then catching up to them 20 mins later >>

Yea I don't get anything either, I get alot of looks because they hear the exhaust, but then again when are all these people saying things that you hear it? I guess like in a store near a window or something. maybe people are more friendly where you guys live

For jokes I have the GT four emblem on the back of my car.. sooooo needless to say.. I get lots and lots of questions!

Most Honda-Fan-Boys only assume GT-4 is some 4 wheel drive turbo (which I must say is a great guess)

SO NO ONE EVER races me. Ever. Even new school guys in the 7th GEN GTS's ease off -- which I find ultra funny.

The best is when you see someone trying to race and you pull up just a bit infront of them and then they see "GT-FOUR" and all of a sudden.. SLOW DOWN

I usually will pull up to the light, rev a little (let the intake blow).. and roll slowly away as if i'm not interested and that my car could "smoke" them..

I know.. I know.. I'm ghetto!
