Topic #37909 6 posts Started by valerit1

Would highly appreciate detailed instractions how to remove the
auto tranny knob without breaking something.
The two screws removal seems only the beginning?
Remove those two screws as you mentioned, you will also need to remove the O/D button in order to remove the knob. I couldn't figure how to remove the O/D so I just cut the wire somewhere in the middle so it would be easy to rewire.
what are yoru trying to do install some aftermarket auto knobs??..if so, do what chanh did n jus cut the wires in the middle and rewire to a switch/after market knob w/switch.....what i did..was take out the OD button with a small flathead screwdriver after that jus pull out..it might have small screws but mines didnt......now jus pull the shift knob out...simple n easy!!!..... heres what mines look like...

No, I intend to put it back after, so I would not want to cut anything -
any other solutions?
Why are you removing for?

Cover it up with something - it is HOT here already - bare plastic is uncomfortable -
burns hands (even auto rarely touched).
