ok, so i'm getting a new engine soon (5sfe) and it's a rebuilt ==30k motor. no my mileage is at about 102k. so, i hear there's a sticker or something, is there any way that i can like, get a new counter, or set them back or something? i hear they break it you tamper with them?...any help is much appreciated. cheers.

if people could do that, they'd be able to sell used cars with really "low" mileage. so i think you're gonna have to do the math from now on.

could you just buy new cluster parts from toyota? im in the same situation with a 3sgte swap..

on my old truck i used to have my friend broke the speedo, and at a junkyard i picked up another one which made my truck have 15,000 less miles. maybe you could do that?

Personally, I'd keep the odometer at 102k miles. and when you want to know how much is on the motor, just subtract 72k miles. That way, you can know your chassis and engine milage. However, you CAN roll the odometer back. Then, you can have your engine milage displayed, then just add 72 to get the chassis milage.

Anyway, I have rolled mine back, but that was on the last gauge cluster i had.

But yes, you can roll it back, but I'd leave it how it is, and just do the math.
