im confused, because when i changed those three bulbs my needles became red too, which means those 3 bulbs control the whole cluster, but for some reason JUST your needles arent lighting? wweeird
wtf its the same pic

you just ms. painted the needles black

well thats what i see

wut r u tryin to pull?

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
i thought the same thing, i think hes trying to say thats what his LOOK like, thats not a pic of his
well than yeah

have the needles been painted on?

did this happen b4 you changed the bulbs?

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
hmmm...thats wierd....i thought that the needles shared the same bulbs as the rest of the gauge cluster.....the stock color is green, if yours is red the previous owner probably messed with it and like XS4lv1Truch0x siad, may have painted the needles....

worst come to worse....there are ALWAYS parts in the buying/selling forum, im sure you could snag another guage cluster! =)
I believe he used the pictures as an example of his problem, not actual pictures of his gauges.
well....I bought the car like this....so I'm not sure is this normal on a celica ?? Yeah the needles don't lite up so its hard to see it at night....and yes the pics I used are just examples....

If u guys think real pics would help I'll try to get some....

thats because those are not stock bulbs in there. you should have normal 194 bulbs with a green condom thing on it. the last owner probably changed the bulbs to led's or something thats not bright enough to light up the gauge cluster correctly.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
but, is yours red ? or is another color ? are they white during the day ?
It lights up blue...and I have an indiglo gauge....everything lights up except the needle things.... frown.gif

im pretty sure if you have an indiglo gauges , they are an overlay to the stock gauges, and they have there own power (someone correct me if im wrong) therefore all 3 of your main bulbs have blown out, but the only thing you are seeing is burnt out needles because the gauges you have on there are hiding the stock numbers
I found someone who had the same prob as me (also same indiglo gauge too !!!) I sent him/her a pm hopefully they can tell me how they got the needle to light up again btw my dimmer switch doesn't work... frown.gif but then the climate and other controls light up... kindasad.gif

heres the thread I was talking about...the person didn't tell how they fixed it though... frown.gif

cool...if they are indiglo, i believe they are on another power source.....good luck with the fix....keep us posted =)
yeah, did you install them yourself?

cause if you did, you prolly cut into the illumination led and didnt let it run to the guague, or you prolly blew a fuse, take a look at ur fuses and see if any of them are blown

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
No I didn't install them they came with the car when I bought it....I'm guessing what brian was saying maybe the bulbs went out cause my dimmer switch doesn't work too, i'll have to replace it and see if thats the problem....

I'm gonna go take some quick pics...

Yeah if there ae indiglo gages and just the needles don't light up either the other owner didn't put the bulbs back in or the dimmer switch is the key and after you fix it your problems will go away. I also had to fix my dimmer switch. But it was before I put my Indiglo's in. I just took the switch apart and rebuilt it myself. It was just bad contacts. Good luck.
ok when u turn the headlights on, does the clock and the air conditioner lights dim?

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
nope....

try checkin your GUAGE fuse...could be worng...but ull prolly end up replacing your dimmer switch....try go at the dimmer siwtch and make sure everythings in order and connections tight.... wink.gif
check if theres a switch for the needles.

maybe you have no lights at all behind that? You can't even read the ODO either!

okay so yeah, the guagues are hooked up to another source not the dimmer source, its the fuse, replace that.

oh and when you turn ur lights on, does the climate controls light up too or what?
