Zephyr Vs. Erebuni Body Kit - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #3827 26 posts Started by Tranceman
I just got my 96 black ST coupe and I'm stuck between the Zephyr and the Erebuni body kit! Which do you guys/girls like better? I plan to add some 17's or 18's in the future, will that make any impact on the kit and how it fits? Any other considerations I need to make? Please post your pics if you have either of these kits!
erebuni makes a kit like the zephyr...u prolly mean the invader or shogun...just look at some pics of peoples cars in member rides section...or go to www.spoilers.com and check out the body kits there

sup dude, where in jersey are you at?

as for the bodykits, its all preference, get whichever you like better. but I will say this, I've seen several veilside style kits on celis in my area but no zglide so take that for whatever its worth.

with either kit fitament is gonna be a problem since you have a coupe. but thats nothing a good bodyshop and a couple hundreds won't fix. good luck.
I live in Woodbridge, exit 127 off GSParkway. I'm leaning toward the Zephyr kit, but, will I have any problems whe I decide to add bigger wheeels? Will it look stupid if I don't have the car dropped at all. I had an RX7 before, which was 3inches off the ground, so I don't want to put a kit on it that makes the car look 2 feet off the ground!
the zephyr kit is a good choice. only problem is its pretty low so you might have trouble driving with it. but you said your previous car was dropped so maybe you're used to it.

anyway about the rims, 18s will look good with the kit. you won't have any problems with scraping as long as you stick to a 215/40 or smaller tire. as for wheel gap, you will still have some but it will be much less noticable than stock so I wouldn't worry about it.

wow, someone that is relatively close to me, i live off exit 63...i am sure you know or have heard of LBI..
Yeah I know LBI, my parents have a shore house in Barnegat (exit 67) and we go to LBI often. Isn't there a Celica meet there soon? Anyway, I was told to go with the Erebuni front because VIS doesn't make a kit for 96 Celica's. Picking the skirts is a pain in the ass, I can hardly tell them apart from the pics I've seen. Maybe I need new contact lenses!

dude, our meet is at Barnegat so maybe we could all head over to your beach house and have a party... w00t >wink.gif>

re: your ViS vs Erebuni question

your right, vis doesn't make a 96+ front. maybe by special order but it'll be easier to get it through erebuni. as for the sideskirts, you know what the erebuni ones look like, these are the vis:

Yo dog, thanks for the pic, I think I'll go for the Erebuni front/rear and the VIS sides. Party at my house afterward? Aight! Anyway, I just finished painting my interior silver and it came out great, I suggest everyone who has the urge to do so also.

BTW, anybody know where I can get this cheap or group buy? And while I'm shopping, how about some Lambo doors, what's the retail on them puppies?
Well I say if your getting the Erebuni front and rear just get the full Zyhper kit. As of right now Im still trying to figure out what exactly the VIS sides are called. But when I find out what they are called I will let you all know. But the clearence on both kits with a 1.5" drop on my car was 5.25" which wasn't to bad.

Well Im hoping its low enough so I dont have to dump money into dropping the car...

Yeah the meet is in Barnegat light, all the way at the end of the island...coming up soon >biggrin.gif>
Cool, but, I'm not sure I want to show up in my stock rocking Celica LOL
Hey Craig, on your side skirts, is there an air inlet up near the front wheel well, and the rear?

VIS doesnt make the front lips for 96+ front bumpers

hey what's the quality like on the erebuni kit and the Vis kit? I'm lookin at getting a Veilside-style rear bumper and i want to know which one has the better quality/fitment on a hatchback. I'm guessing its Erebuni Cuz its more expensive. I just want the best i can get w/o paying out of my ass for a veilside rear bumper. Also, all of these are made out of fiberglass right? are there any urethane or higher quality kits out there? Or does the fiberglass hold up pretty well? i've heard mixed reviews. As of now i'm getting the erebuni shogun rear bumper unless someone persuades me another way.

hmmm...i cant really picture a stock celica with just the invader rear. might look a bit odd in my opinion but its ur car. from what i heard VIS is cheaper and has really good fitment but thats what i have been told. as for urethane, i think i can get body kits made in urethane since my friend is partners with a company that makes custom kits but i wouldnt recommend them really at the moment. But its ur call man and NO they do not make urethane kits unless they are custom made. I hope this answers all your questions >smile.gif>

Yeah its a vent up front also. The pic that Ghost dog posted is a pic of my sides unpainted.

Any opinions on the Erebuni vs VIS skirts? Anybody know where these kits are goin cheap?
HAHA! I'm not just getting the invader rear. The invader rear is just the only part i can get in the states. The rest is comin from belgium. And i'm not lookin for cheap i'm lookin for quality/fitment. I have some great body guys that i know, but i would still rest easier if they didnt have to make a buncha mods before puttin it on. I'm willing to spend the extra $100 on the erebuni if it is worth it, which im guessing it is, cuz its supposedly the closest match to the veilside kit.
THe ViS Invader kit is the closest match to the Veilside. In fact...it's damn near perfect. The front bumper (minus the extra piece to mount a front license plate) is almost identical, the sides are identical and the rear bumper is missing two extra pieces that extend downward (there are four in the Veilside). The Erebuni has a reputation for bad fitting and the rear bumper does not even have holes for the exhaust or tow hooks. If you don't believe me, compare the pictures for yourself. Just my two cents.

Ray (Kuya1284) over at celica.net can get it for under 500 but thats not including shipping. the reason that he can get them cheap is that he is a dealer for VIS and cuts us celica guys a deal. If you go talk to him tell him that Bryan sent you to him. IMO the VIS sides look WAY better than the 404 sides. I finally got to see the 404 sides today in person and let me say that they jsut don't look as good and have the right look to the kit I think.

Thanks for the replies guys, keep em coming! BTW Craig, I sent Ray an email a week ago, and he never responded. If you know him personally, tell him he has a customer waiting! Anyway, I agree that the ViS skirts lok better. However, I was told that Erebuni fits better than the ViS, so which really fits better? Help! >rolleyes.gif>
Well looking at the picture ghost dog posted of the vis sideskirt, and having seen tons of pictures of the eubruni 404 sides which I think are too low without the front and rear lips. I think I'm going to purchase the vis sideskirts alone, I don't think fitment will be an issue. Now I just have to find a dealer who can get it for me at a reasonable price, unless I can find a set of stock loking skirts, like the ones I posted today.
