What additivies do you guys regularly use on the celicas? im starting to use STP gas treatment on a regular basis. i think its doing stuff lol.. use everytime i fill up a new tank. anywho, one treatment is only $1.56 @ autozone. cant hurt can it. how bout u guys?
i use lucas brand additives, such as their fuel injector cleaner, use it once a month, lucas oil stabilizer, once every other oil change.
anyone ever use Gumout Regane or Chevron Techron regularly? will this harm our engines with regular use?

i thought i heard something about these types of products removing "necessary" deposits that may block leaks in the system
i toss in a bottle of techron once or twice a year. i can read the numbers stamped on the tops of my pistons at 120K miles. does it help? maybe. does it hurt? probably not.

The techron is incredible when it comes to fuel system cleaning. Its one of the top brands (though no one really knows it). Yeah it can cause problems if you have been neglecting your oil changes, but other than that, you should be fine. Personally, I use the lucas treatments, oil stabilizer and whatnot. But my favorite product to use is seafoam. I buy two cans for every oil change. Half goes in my gas tank, the other half i pour into the oil and let my car idle for like 15 min, then I drain the old stuff. put in the new stuff, and use the other can by sucking it through my intake using a vac line. makes all the carbon build up burn off and smokes like crazy. I think seafoam may be argueably the best product for your car, the stuff is awesome.

p.s. Im not sure, but i dont know if its benificial for you to use a fuel treatment/injector cleaner with EVERY fill up, maybe every once in a while

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?
another thumbs up for seafoam, it was forged in heaven
i thought too much seafoam can cause your seals to go bad...and doesnt your engine need some of those carbons?

yeah there was a thread about seafoam on here a while back. Someone used it on their low mileage engine and blew some sh*t up. After reading that I will never use it.

I use techron every now and then.

I think its cause seafoam is mostly kerosene so i can understand that completely. but all things in moderation I guess biggrin.gif . And I dont think that a good run through your intake would be a problem for any seals wink.gif
