Project 6g Celica 20v completed - 6G Celicas Forums

Well I got my car back from the paint shop yesterday. smile.gif I am finally done with what I wanted to do with the car. The 20v 4age was swapped onto the car back in Febuary 2006 and was up and running in March. I managed to keep my a/c system and power steering using custom made parts. The car was in the shop for repaint early June and I slapped on 18" rims and sold my 17" ADR's. This is as far as I can go with the car because of lots and lots of bills. It's been almost $10,000 into the celica to get it back to running condition and so forth. kindasad.gif Below is several picks from beginning to end. Enjoy! biggrin.gif

When the car was in it's original state:

Ok, this is all of the pics I got so far. Maybe I'll have plans on doing more to the car, but bodykit and splitters is out of the question (I'd feel sick about cracks and chips frown.gif ). I want to keep it looking as stock as possible. Maybe go with Carbon fiber interior panels, put back my sound system, and Curren tails, but that's as far as i'll go.

good question dustinbrown, why did you change to that colour? you had one of the most rarest colours for the 6gc.net and may i add one of the most sexiest. excellent swap for the 4A-GE looks real clean and professional *thumbs up* -R

When I bought the car, the trunk and roof's clearcoat was peeling badly, to the point that it looks like frost. And also, there is a brown Celica GT hatch driving around town which made me want to consider a different color. So I ended up choosing the plat. metallic paint (Subaru OEM Paint). Besides, it's the only silver 6gc on the island, and it's powered by a 20v wink.gif
well done!!!

i love the curren tails...wish i had a coupe. enjoy!!

Yeah, as a matter of fact I specifically told the shop guys not to paint in the engine bay at all. I wouldn't trust if they messed up the wiring and all the other minor things like that. If anything I'll be able to do the engine bay repaint myself since I have the resources at home. But more than likely I won't bother because I was more concerned about the outside really. Oh, and everthing else like the door jams, trunk, and under the hood got repainted. Only the engine bay was untouched.

Honestly, it may be less powerful than a 3sgte celica....but it still is a kick a** ride to be driving around. It has alot more power then the 7AFE that's for sure. But it's only noticeable when you rev high enough for the vvt to do it's job. The engine's a screamer at 7+ rpm. I wish I could get more power, but I am satisfied with the outcome of the car. TOP END POWER biggrin.gif
Sweet Car! The engine bay looks stock hehe..
