Installed JDM Headlights - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #38820 13 posts Started by elvasoshexai
man.. i just spent 4hours installing my damn JDM headlights today (9pm-1am)... it really SUX working @ night

after everything was done... i had like:

-5+ bolts leftover...
-ended up with 2 clips that fell out from somewhere.. (no clue where)
-was missing 1 of those push-pin type thing
-1 of the nuts that go against the fender wouldn't tighten
-1 of the bolts under the car, the hole was messed up because of a rusted bolt and wouldn't go in anymore...

so think it's still ok to with all these extra parts not back on the car? (like my bumper or that plastic thing udner the car won't just fall out while driving at high speeds? hah

had the lowbeams retrofitted with OEM TSX HID Projectors and so the beam pattern is for LHD. Painted the projector part black to prevent glare.
Can't believe how BRIGHT it is with these HIDs

some daytime pics of the lights:

maybe one of those clips fits the fender so you can tighten it

I just did not put the plastic trim under the car back on. 2/5 nuts/clips were rusted and the times a took of my bumper I'd rather remove only 10 nuts/bolts instead of 15 (also did not replace the 4 pushins with brackt on crashbar.

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
awesome.. those jdm lights are probably one of the most expensive exterior mods for our cars. you plan on doing the LHD conversion?

btw, the clips might've come from the bottom of the bumper, where it holds the front lower splash guard with the front bumper.

also where did you buy your harness for the low beams?

hm.. yea maybe those clips did come from the lower splash guard... it came out while i was opening it to get the fender nuts... but it's so much work to put them back i'll probably put it back the next time i remove my bumper. hah... i guess if it's not too big a deal i'll just leave most of those bolts off

yea.. these headlights are probably the most expensive things i've bought so far...

i made a thread in interior a long time ago about my oem tsx projector retrofit... so basically i got HIDs... so no need for LHD conversion =) and the place that did my retrofit made me a wiring harness that was plug and play into the 9006 socket...

the beam pattern is incredibly sharp... and the road is SOOO bright... i love it lol

if you go to www.customlightz.com and go to the multimedia->pictures and look for the 98 celica.. that's mine

Read the thread title.... Although if I remember correctly someone took out the regular projector ballast and installed an Acura Tsx/Rsx? ballast.... Thus making the front part black? Also they have HID's... Right?
hey elvasoshexai, the projectors look pretty damn sexy! one of the best and professional modifications i've seen with the jdm projectors... although i still favour the non-modified projectors with pure HID's i think you've done a great job. too bad you didnt tell them to put a ring around the projectors so we can have a professional looking angel eyes like the BMW's and Mercs. post pics of the lights at night please...-R
