Turbo ST track times? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #38995 16 posts Started by nate95
HI guys and girls,, as some of you know im getting ready to finish my 7afte project, and i was just curious what kind of times some of you other 7afte's are running and at how many PSI?? (1/8 & 1/4 mile times, along with your 0-60mph if you know)
thanks biggrin.gif
don't have my times yet because of problems with my parts dealer so my car isn't running but I also am very interested in these times.

And if I can get my car running I will post some as soon as I can.

If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle. Instant NASCAR!!!
I would guess that a turbo'd ST running 8psi would possibly hit around a 14. I believe a stock ST with light mods whatsoever can barely hit 16's, if you're lucky.

id have ran my stock ST at the track during the DWG 3-day meet but it was $25 and id have held people up taking like half an hour to get all the way down laugh.gif kidding...

a stock GT only does mid 17s so im guessing the stock ST would not do any better than mid 18s

dan pretty much gutted his car and ran 17.1 i believe it was.

considering manny's lowest is 14.1 with room for high 13's with good traction, id say turbo ST's should prolly run anywhere from a high 14 to a mid to high 15.
a stock GT runs a 16.4...i ran a 15.8 with a full exhaust and CAI.....but i would say a 7afte could probably pull a high 14..

1994 celica GT.....3sgte in a month! all helpers are welcome!!! i live in Plattsburgh, NY.
I agree with brianforster, I would expect times of somewhere in the 15's, and with good driving and a strong setup perhaps you'd see high 14's.

Why doesn't somebody with a 7AFTE go run their car and tell us what they can do? I'd like to see some genuine numbers for that setup.

not to be getting off topic, but as far as 7afe(no boost) should be in the 16's with some mods as sinner96ST said. not 18's

with my 7afe with
MSD SCI+ Ignition
Custom made CAI
2.5" exhaust
+10 degrees timing,

not to mention 2-15's in the hatch, I ran a best of 16.76,
so the 7afe isn't as slow as some think(nor as fast as some think for that matter)

Also one thing that I have found makes a huge difference on times is the track, elevation, and air where you run your car, And being that alot of us are from different areas we probably would get bigger differences in our times.

Dan (Playr158) ran a 17.3 in a heavily stripped ST with exhaust, intake, etc so I suppose a high 16 could be attainable with some phenominal driving.

i ran a 15.2 sprayin a 75 shot (dry zex kit) with full interior, and two subs in the trunk, so 14's is about right assuming that each pound of boost reflects 10 horses.
ok guys, time to let this thread die.
this thread is worthless without timeslips.
