what differen between 2 tranny 3sgte and 3sge - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #39042 6 posts Started by funnys_tears
i like to know which trannys is stronghter it can hold alot hp, and can hold hight speed..
MR2-3SGTE, 3SGE, 3SFT AND 5SFE, TRANNY.
Best choice is the 3S-GTE tranny of course.

Dont know about the 3S-FE tranny, but the 3S-GE and 5S-FE tranny will hold enough power. Topspeed is very limited on a 5S-FE because the diff is shorter. 3S-GE has a bit longer diff but still the 3S-GTE will have a higher top speed in the end (if you have enough power).

3S-GE tranny will go up to about 250-255km/h @ 7000rpm
3S-GTE tranny will go up to 270+km/h @ 7000rpm

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
it depends on who you ask about this subject..... I blew upp 2 trans in one year s54's.... I switched to the e153 trans and I have been having nothing but luck no problem.

True but looking at Defgeph (3S-GE 240+WHP) and Presure2 (5S-FE 230+WHP) running more then a year without problems, it would seem you cant shift (just kiddin). Maybe 2 bad trannies on your part!

I cant say much of my tranny yet. Have driven about 2000km (1200 miles) without problems.

Nope just cant daily drive a car... bring it to the track on the weekend ... and expect to drive it to work the next day. Not a good idea. whith such low gearing its very easy to get carried away.

Sorry still disagree with using the S series trans.
